Indie's best friend, Mr. Bob

I keep telling the family that Indie has a best friend who's a Bob Cat. Or part Bob Cat. No one ever sees this guy, but, me. He is very wild and elusive. I've been leaving him food for months. He is finally getting more trusting. Today, the house cats were around my feet as I hung out some laundry and Mr. Bob joined them and layed down about three feet from me. That's as close as he's ever come. But, I got pics, so, he's real and not my imagination. So there.

He has big feet, shaggy mane and long legs like a Bob Cat and of course, the bobbed tail. He is HUGE. Much bigger than a regular house cat. Where he came from, I have no idea. But, he comes to my door and howles for Indie to come out. At first, I thought he wanted to kill Indie (I can relate) but, no, he just wanted to be buddies. It's the weirdest relationship. Indie is a big cat, but, Mr. Bob dwarfs him. I know it's hard to tell from the bad pics, but, he's bad ass. Indie runs out and hugs him around the neck and they take off through the back garden to do..whatever it is cats do.

He's sort of amazing, isn't he?

How sweet! ! A little bromance!!!!
You give off the right vibes, so he knows he is safe around you. I wonder if the big old guy is giving Indie pointers on hunting and how to hide jewelry? it would be interesting to know what they do and where they go.
When I was in grade school, a friend and I decided we would spy on her male cat Thomas and report off to each other via cheap walkie talkies. It was very boring, and our only result was a very puzzled cat, so I can not in good faith recommend it.
He does have long legs and kind of a bobcat look, though, doesn't he?

He has very long bob cat legs and muscular. His face looks domestic. Yeah, he teaches Indie to hunt. Once Indie got out without his collar and with Bob, killed a Cardinal. I was pretty upset. But, Indie usually wears a large bell with ruins hunting. I don't know why Bob puts up with it. You might have noticed Indie also wear a flashing light for night potties. I try to stay one step ahead of him.

ps, like you, I followed them once. Bob has a hideous low loud growl that calls in all males for a rumble. I grabbed Indie and took him inside. It looked like it was gonna get bad, and Indie is ill equipped for real fighting. But, he came home with his first injury the other day..a bad bite on the chin. He seems proud of it. Dumbell. I treated it and hope he's learned something. He's neutered but, there is NO WAY I can make him stay inside.

Christina is just trying to accomodate you. There is nothing in your pictures. No cat or bobcat. You are seeing things. Poor dear.

He looks like my niece's cat, who we also suspect is a cross with a bobcat. Mom was a barn cat and abandoned the kittens. Simon was the only one that made it and you'd think he'd be gentle with all the coddling he got, but he is a supreme asshole, always biting.

Wow, what a beautiful cat! I am loving the coat he has has going on, warm for the winter. You know, I wouldn't be surprised if he is part bobcat. I think it's very sweet they go on hunts together. (:

I'm familiar with Main Coons, beautiful large cats, but, they are built like large house cats. This cat is not. His back legs seem far too long. He is built exactly like a wild Bob Cat. Bob Cats come in many colors and stripes and leopard like prints. And Bob Cats are larger than any house cat, even MCs. I think this guy here is a genuine Bob. He's pretty fierce and wild and I can't believe he got that close to me the other day. I have been seeing him for over a year. No one else has seen him. I'll do my best to get more and clearer photos, but, he is NOT tempted by food. He feeds himself well. He is only tempted by Indie's strange friendship with him.

LOL at nothing there. Don't weird me out. I am weird enough already.

PS, we recently lost our old part Bob Cat, Happy. We had him for over 20 years and he was definitely a hybrid, so I am familiar with those. This new dude is far more Bob-catty than a hybrid even. He's a tiny bit scary.

Thank you ( re my name)Used to hate it as a kid and in my 20's but in my 30's started to love it, especially because I was born in the Bronx (3rd generation Italian), raised in Westchester suburbs and am an executive in Manhattan...my name is so dichotomous to my culture, a culture that I now find nauseatingly class conscious. With maturity I realized that my name is a big eff you to all the snobs in my circle who judge people by a name, first or last and I proudly sign business documents "Laura Jean". ( My deceased mama knew what she was doing when she named me :) grow a strong woman)
