Wow!

The snow storm has turned Lissa's tree into a picture perfect post card. Three cheers for the beat up old Vivitar. ~shakes head~

  7. Psssst, Meissa, that tree is not real. It's an old dollar store tree that was in the shed. Go get a cheap one and set it up in a flower pot outside. At night you can't tell the diff!!

  10. I'm glad the garden killers left that little tree. It sure is pretty. I can send you some really pretty pictures of a giant mud puddle and a car smeared with mud that the cane trucks tracked on the highway. It's a whole different driving experience. I always thought I could never drive in snow. But slipping and sliding in slimey, oily gooey mud might be good training. I'm really jealous of such beautiful landscape, but I think after a week of it, I would have enough. My body is not made for snow--well maybe snow angels. But then I might sink into the snow and no body would find me until the spring thaw.

Biz, I saw your reply from yesterday about La. Lagniappe. My son was working there about that time. He was the good looking guy behind the bar. He looks like his mom. Unfortunately, I think he drank more than he sold. Kept getting popped for drunk driving. Finally gave up the job. Might be the smartest thing he's ever done. He's not known for making great choices! Still doesn't have a license.

  11. We're getting our fair share of that snow tonight here in Chicago. BleH! I'm not a fan of snow. Tomorrow the winds will be gusting to 35+ mph and it's going down to 5 degrees. Thursday we have a high of 14 predicted.

That 85 in Miami sounds wonderful.

  12. I guess I should read ALL the comments before making one. You got me there with the tree! But it's still very pretty and all covered with snow and lights, I bet no one there could tell the differance either!

  14. That's a perfect Norman Rockwell type picture, DD. It would make a nice banner pic...although I kind of liked the pic of Matt's exploded anus...I wonder if I can make it into the mouse/pointer thingy on my computer?

Very nice decorations. Has Lissa made a snowperson yet?

I don't envy you those Iowa winters!

  15. Those are such great pictures. The trees almost look like they're popping out of the photo, like the old Viewmaster slides. What a pretty sight; I miss snowy winter days.

  18. Send me your unwanted snow! Please. My son got a "Make a snowman kit",when he was maybe 9 or 10 & I came across it this morning, way back in a closet. MY SON'S NOW 18! We've got the hat, eyes, nose, mouth & buttons & there's no blasted snow anywhere. *sigh* You watch,I'll give this kit away & we'll have damn snow everywhere.

  20. I have a lot of those trees. People throw them out in January. I pick them up and put them in the shed.

  21. WOW! That is a LOT of snow. Heard on talk radio tonight say this is your worst blizzard in 30 years. Wonder if that's true? Boy if the wind starts blowing there like it OFTEN does, Layer Up! Kiss the end of that pretty driveway good bye! for a few days.
Settle in and be Snowed in for a couple days.

  27. Unbelievable! You have your very own winter wonderland right outside your window. And NOTHING is better than being in a warm house, snuggled up with someone you love, fur-baby sleeping on your lap, big fat fluffy snowflakes drifting lazily outside the frosted window. *sigh*

  28. It's 12 degrees right now. Only supposed to get up to 17. I was going to go out and scoop snow off the decks but better not. Hell, if I had a heart attack nobody would find me for days. LOL
