This one gave me a great big laugh!!!! Yep,in this very speech she ragged on Obama big time about using the teleprompters! I do not believe that she would be able to have conducted an unscripted Q&A as Obama pulled off last week with the Republicans. That was one of the first times in many months that Obama's substance and knowledge impressed me. The politician that I really respect is Alan Grayson--He's not a phony!

This woman scares me. I really thought she would get a talk show or something and that would take her away from politics. When she got her gig with FOX news I said, "Perfect. She can rile them all up and we won't have to worry about her anymore." But now she's playing coy on a run in 2012 and polls are showing that a lot of Republicans support that. That, frankly, scares me to death. I can't begin to imagine this woman in the White House.

Ever since George W. Bush was re-elected in the midst of an unpopular war, I will never again be surprised by anyone who gets elected to any office. I sure Dubya would not be elected twice. Sure of it. And then he was. So if Palin gets elected I won't be surprised. Horrified. But not surprised.

DD, residing as I do in a retirement vacation spot I can tell you that I think that is a HUGE part of her draw. Before the election I saw all kinds of old people in T-shirts telling people to vote for McCain because his V.P. was hot. I wish I could remember exactly what they said, but that was the gist of it. I also heard a LOT of racial jokes about Obama at the time. These same people, of course, "are not racist, you understand!" Yeah, yeah, tell it to someone else you old bigot. I've heard jokes about Hilary being ugly and thinking she is a man, etc. I asked a few of them "Why McCain?" and the responses were usually 1) military record and 2) Palin's "fresh perspective."

I am very concerned that she may have a chance at the presidency. I don't really know what her appeal is. Maybe it is the horny old men who like her fresh perspective, all I can tell you is that there were some middle-aged women at my work who were very upset that she wasn't part of the winning ticket. I just don't understand why. Our country is in enough danger without some law-bending hick who can not express herself intelligently, screwing us up further.
