Medication or not?

Last night's episode of Real Housewives Of NYC..I don't have words for the crazy that is Kelly Bensimon. She's always been a dumbass who doesn't "get" things and says stupid shit, but, last night...she was mad. Mad in that "King George must be locked in the tower" kind of way. She was convinced that Bethenny has a murder plot against her and that Alex is a vampire. And not one of those psychic vampires, which she's not anyway, but, one of the real blood sucking vampires. Kelly screamed, sobbed, yelled and went totally wacko. She actually thought Alex was dressed in a vampire costume and insisted she was wearing a kabuki mask, only dumbo Kelly pronounced it "Gaboogie" mask. Screaming at Bethenny "You tried to kill me!" Over and and over, screwing up her face and shoving jelly beans in her gaping mouth, (she called them Gumberries) Kelly became paranoid, inconsolable and manic all at the same time. It was then that the other gals realized she was having a mental breakdown (the mother of all mental breakdowns) and they tried to calm her down and make her feel safe. It didn't work. I sat there in shock watching Kelly unravel for real. Kelly then pulled on her own hair, gummy vines hanging out of her mouth as she strung together unrelated words out of the blue. She looked up once and said "SATCHELS OF GOLD!" Everyone was scared.

This chick is seriously crazy and needs mental help. But, I don't know how someone who has the IQ of a GD turnip can get balanced. There was nothing there to start with. Strangest episode yet. I am now speechless. And yes, Bethenny, you were right all along, and I always knew it. Now, so does everyone else. Kelly should NOT be raising two young children and I hope Gilles steps in after this episode.

Note: I just found a clip on D list of part of Kelly's breakdown. HERE. It doesn't show you the full extent of her crazy, but, it gives you a hint.

  1. Wow. Now I feel bad for making fun of her, if she really has mental issues. That's not funny at all.

  2. She seems to "step out" of the room alone quite a bit. Perhaps she is "self medicating"?

  3. Kelly has been accused of being a drug user by many, and I see signs of it. But, I thought she was a pot smoker and occasional coke user. The behavior she exhibited last night went far beyond "high and ditzy" though. I think she has serious mental problems.

  4. Poor girl. It's a monkey on her back ! I hope
she gets help. Regardless of wether we like her
or not she is still a human being and a mother
to 2 young girls Sea & Tad. I think popa Gilles is
unaware or doesn't care of the situation. He
leaves a bad impression upon me. I just have
a feeling inside deep down in my spine and he
is uninvovled. I hope she gets help for her sake
and more so for her two lil girls ASAP ! Kiki ;(

  5. It's like Kelly's brain has a short circuit..whenever something is too hard for her to comprehend she has a few default phrases like "zip it" or "it's like 1979" or "stop. stop. stop. just stop.". She clearly has been sliding towards the abyss for a long time, and maybe her good looks allowed people to ignore it. She needs help and should not be on the show anymore until she gets it.
Kelly still is an arrogant bitch though. This mental break down seemed to be just an exaggeration of her core nasty and petulant personality. Of course Bethany was right all along and I'm glad for her that now all her "friends" saw the truth.
Sonja is a godsend to this group!

  10. If someone takes Adderall and has a past history of drug abuse, they can have psychotic episodes and breakdowns. This happened to my niece and she became seriously paranoid and was hallucinating. She had been taking the "medication" for about 6 months without any problems. After a brief hospital stay, she returned to normal in a few weeks. It never should have been prescribed to her because of her past history which the doctor knew about. It was a scary time for my sister. Hope Kelly's daughters have a good family support system.

  11. I watched it and all that kept running threw my head was why wasnt anyone asking her what the hell she has been smoking?
She is either on something and got hold of some bad shit OR forgot to bring her stash.
    OR
She is mentally unstable and needs to be evaluated.

Do not take this the wrong way cause I have family that are not quite right but as she was eating those jelly beans and talking off..all I could think about was this could be a character from a Steven King novel.

  12. well i watched that....that was 2 minutes i'll never back of my life.....wtf?!?! it wasn't that bat shit....she sounded slurred though....

  13. I have an off the subject topic to bitch about and did't know where to put it Then I saw medication and figured this would be a good place.
I have some back problems and I had a flair up this week. I didn't have time to go to my back dr. (out of town), so I went to my local. He gave me some samples to try to see if they will help. He also told me that the prescription was very expensive and probably would not be covered insurance. Now normally it would piss me off that the insurance would not pay up---until I called the pharmacy. They told me that the script was a time release pill. Now here's the kicker---it's flexerel (sp)!!! That's all it is and they want (drum roll please) $635 for a months supply. Now truly this deserves a big FUCK PHARMACUTICALS !!!!!

  14. WHAT?? i have flexeril...it's not a time release...unless they have a time release version.....

i think mine is even generic....let me go look.....

    YES...it is GENERIC for flexeril....

so you tell that dr. you want the generic flexeril prescribed to you!!!

  15. This is the new timed release and it's called AMRIX. That's my point. Why is it so expensive when all it is is Fexeril and there is a generic!!! It's just plan stupid. (I already have te flexeril.) I'm glad the pharmacist is telling everyone this. It's just one example of how the drug companies take advantage of people. And my dr. did tell me this---that's why he gave me samples.

I was changing back drs. because of convenience but my insurance is changing in July so I decided to wait until then if I could.

  16. I finally watched it and it was so obvious that she was heading for a breakdown. I think the other women chose to ignore it because it was going to get in the way of their good times. Bad idea.

Some one should have pulled her aside and dealt with it. It's not like they were in NYC and could pop her in a cab and be done with her. They saw it coming and continued to egg her on and she just escalated.

Would any of you just let that shit happen? I betcha you'd try to intervene and calm things down. It all seemed pretty heartless because obviously that woman is mentally compromised.

  17. jane---drug companies once their drug goes generic come up with another version of it so they can then charge full price!

    greedy mother fucking grubs!

  18. Generics can not be trusted and I have a huge beef with them. I want the pharmacy to stop giving me that shit.

  19. There was an article in the Detroit Free Press this morning
    about 3 Whistleblowers who WON
hugh $$$ against a Drug Co. The
three women were Drug Reps who blew the whistle on the tactics used to get Doctors to prescribe Topamax for symptoms other than it's intended use. Good for them in coming forward. More should speak up. Of course, these ladies will need the Millions they each will receive as who would hire them now? But they did the Right Thing, IMO.
