Open post

I have to work today and I have to finish a safe travel charm for a friend's daughter before I go in, so, you guys have the floor today. I also have Lis today, so, I'll be busy. I'm working on a net place to put my stories and I'll let you all know where it is. I don't think they belong on here and I'm itching to write the rest of the Arizona years. I have the opposite of writer's block right now. I want to type and type! But, work calls. So, tell me what's up with you and I promise I'll read it all as soon as I come home.

Oh, and don't forget to send me cute pet and kid pics for Sunday. I haven't gotten any this week.

RIP easy rider. We will all miss you Dennis Hopper.

I'm at work. Only a month more to go with my job and 2 more months till little one is here. We are all moved in to the new place. Trying to organize and get things completed before little one comes along. It really helps not having the net and tv. You do get alot done.

Tricia great news.

Pat ~ sending pics of the newest family member.

Nothing much going on here today. Baking my Spinach/ Pepperoni Bread to take to Pittsburgh tomorrow. Old Uncle is having a picnic - except all the daughters & I are bring the food. It should be a blast seeing everyone again. It's been two years since I was with them all.

Hope you and Lis have a relaxing weekend together.

Ava's Mommy ~ when did you move out of the MIL's house. Must be wonderful having your own place.

Oh its is CJ. Its Peace and Quite. We moved out May 11. It was one of the hardest but best days. We only were at her house for 5 months. But the last 2 months were HELL. I'm so happy to be on are own once again.

Oh, Dennis Hopper died too? Well, he was suffering from his cancer and his mega bitch wife..so he deserves peace.

It is humid today..a bit cloudy. Keeps looking like rain.
I am going to cook deli hot dogs and red hots on the grill, going to make chili dogs. I have some corn on the cob also. Hubs has the whole holiday weekend off so I am cooking stuff on the grill every day.
Damn, I forgot to get coleslaw. I am from the North but I love a good slaw dog.

No yard work for me except maybe water the plants and later I will go to the community garden and water over there.

That's wonderful Tricia! Have a great day!
For some reason, today all of us slept in until about 11 am. I guess it's the last few weeks catching up with us. My son has had bilateral pneumonia and has been out of school for about two weeks. My husband has been off of work for most of two weeks for another flare-up of diverticulitis. It doesn't help that he doesn't do what he is supposed to do, diet-wise, but I can't make him have common sense. I have been working my 12-hour shifts, and we bought another shed which we are turning into a chicken coop. It was fully finished on the inside---sheetrock, wired, etc., but it was part of a foreclosure in a nice neighborhood, so they want it gone ASAP. We did the entire demolition on the inside, so now we have to take it completely apart and get it home so we can reassemble. I'm thinking it would have been nicer, or at least easier to buy a kit, but I really did enjoy the demolition. Power tools, yeah!!!
It's been pretty rainy, and yesterday we took a huge load to the dump. All the demolition stuff, and some of the junk my husband keeps around here that no sane person would ever want. It was so nice to get rid of stuff.
We actually unpacked a beautiful bird bath that my husband gave me for mother's day a few years ago, and it looks very nice up front.
It's supposed to get a little drier later today, and be kind-of sunny tomorrow, so maybe we will finish everything with the shed this weekend. If not, we will have to work during the week as they want it gone by 6/5.
Wish us luck!
Ava's Mommy---glad to hear that you were able to move out, and that things are going smoothly.

We also moved several large pieces of furniture from the living room into the backroom, which will be my craft/scrapbooking area. Because of the odd angles in this house, my husband actually had to cut away part of the door frame to get one of them through. He tried everything else, and nothing would work. But, the furniture is back there, and I have been very focused on packing things away. Finally, a space where I can do some major stress-relief!!!
It's also been about a year since I found out that my niece's children were being adopted out. That was a real low point in my life. I desperately wanted another child, but my husband did not, and he did not want to adopt, either. These three children were taken from my niece as a result of an abuse situation, and they were placed together in foster care. I didn't know the little boy, the youngest child very well, but I knew and still love the girls. I miss them, and didn't know they were being adopted until it was too late. By that time, they had already bonded and formed a family with the people who were adopting them, and I felt it would be totally wrong to do anything to destroy or weaken the bonds they had established. Having them slip away has been some of the saddest moments of my life.

Christina -
I remember that you told us about the kids awhile ago. It was very sad for me to read it then but told me so much about you, who you are, and that was a delight to know. You have a very special heart. Do you ever get to see the kids? Do they live close to you? If no to those then maybe when they are grown there will be the possibility for a relationship. Please send DD some pics of your chickens cause I'm dying to see them!
Ava's Mommy - I am so excited for you that the move is behind you! I thought that you handled the stress of living with MIL amazingly well, really. Very excited that your new baby will here in just 2 weeks!!! Isn't baby bean also due fairly soon? I can't remember. I had such a busy week that I didn't get a chance to read here for the last 6 days...and today when I saw all that I had missed!! Instead of planting and garden work I got caught up on all of DD's most recent masterpieces! Love this blog. Now I'm going to get busy planting and weeding.

Oh, DD I emailed you some pics

Hubby took a 4 day weekend so we could go to Arizona. I declined. I'd rather see your pool than the Grand Canyon. Least I know how it got there. Loving your entries just too caught up in my own shit to speak up.

If anyone is interested in perennials, Bluestone Perennials has all their plants half price til the 31st. I got a red clematis to plant w/my red one, it should be gorg-e-oso!

Hope you're having a good weekend, DD. It's snowing here, all over my pumpkins that I planted last week...that my kids and I started from seed on the windowsill a couple of months ago. I hope I covered everything up in time!!

LOL Nancy.. Oh NOOO 2 more months sweetie.. Did I put 2 weeks?
I'm not that ready per-say for the little one to be here. They haven't even gave me a exact c-section date. I'm hoping before Ava's Bday on the 29 of july. If not the two of them are going to share a bday.

Tia I like your little friend Toadzilla. He is a really big Toad.

Of course that excites them all over again. LOL I mean how do you hate a no-life no friend living in mommies basement slug. Pity them Miss Tia.
