Size 14 Christina Hendricks dress problem

Christina said: "People have been saying some nice, wonderful things about me. Yet not one designer in town will loan me a dress. They only lend out a size 0 or 2. So I'm still struggling for someone to give me a darn dress".

Now, this is the part where everyone has to fight over whether she's a big girl or a curvy girl instead of wondering why she can't just buy her own fucking dress. Why do celebs think they have to be given everything?

i don't get that either....they are millionaires but they want everything free! WTF?!?!? and they get 'goodie' bags with hundreds of thousands of freebies....

whatever happened to buying your own damn stuff?

Did you see on TMZ this morning. Oksana Grigorieva was belly aching because she could not afford to buy her teenage son a birthday present. So the LA Lakers stepped up an gave the kid a huge gift basket full of Lakers stuff. I raised two boys on my own by cleaning the shit of old men's balls, but my kids always had birthday presents. And I bought my own clothes. They were usually from the thrift shop in those days...but still. Celebrities bug me with their entitlement issues. I'm going to work.

That always ticks me off to hear about the things celebs get for free, especially the gifting suites at these award shows. They're overpaid in the first place (along with athletes).

But as far as her size, I think she is a normal sized woman (excluding her boobs), when will designers realize that 0 is not a real size?

she's young & a size 14 already. When she is older & everything heads south, watch out. She will be shopping the moo-moo racks at K-Mart. She plays a woman of the 1960's, back when having a shpe was still ok. Big or small. She's a big girl. Period. But she can certainly afford to buy her own gown. & No, designers do not make size 14 gowns. I am sure that would have to be specially made.
I don't see the big deal about her. She looks pretty regular to me. Just HUGE!!!

Mabel: Who the he** is Okasana whatshername?

Anonymous said...

Rox,
I can not believe you are calling her HUGE! That is insane. What is wrong with women today. She looks healthy to me not all anorexic looking like most Hollywood stars. remember the camera adds weight so half of those "skinny" celebs are not healthy.

Tia,
What ever happened to working, at a job, paying for your own meds and food?

Good question, eh?

I know, I know, you will call me troll.

anon-a-fuck....fuck off....

Well the dress she is wearing looks like a really bad home economics project.

Tia - why do you get so bent over the people here? Everyone likes free shit no matter how rich or poor. If you don't like people taking a jab at you then publish less of your personal life.

Anonymous said...

Also...if Christina Hendricks wants something for free she should start with some sun. It's free and from the looks of her pasty white ass she could use a little exposure.

Anonymous said...

I do not know. Point is not about being free or not, it is about no one makes a dress for a person who is not a size 0.

miss tia said...

no anon is gonna tell me how to live my life---including what i publish about it....

nor am i gonna let some anon judge me....look in the mirror....

miss tia said...

back to the topic at hand...i bet some designer will hear her plea and design stuff just for her....for free....

First of all, I think Christina is beautiful and doesn't need to lose any weight.

But I agree with DD, why can't she buy her own dress? I read a similiar quote from Mandy Moore a few years ago. She had gained some weight and she complained that no one wanted to loan her clothes anymore. I posted on a gossip website that I thought she was being greedy and should buy her own clothes, and I was dogpiled by other posters saying I "missed the point"...um no, I understand the point. But I still think if you're rich, you should buy your own clothes.

Helen Mirren wears drug store make-up according to Vanity Fair. Why not? I wish celebutards would take a stand, pay for their own loot and get real.

I thought Christina looked real and beautiful. I liked her dress, it fit the occasion. I'll never have need of a dress like that. I loved the colour and her hair. I think her 'size' is a inconsequential. I don't think if she gets some sun she'll tan, she will just freckle. Not that there's anything wrong with that either.

These two things--size and free dresses-- are sides of the same coin. Once you are rich and famous, what you can buy doesn't really matter--these people already have amazing lives, homes, possessions, everyone is pretty much on the same page financially, so keeping up with the Joneses loses it's thrill.
After that it's about what money CAN'T buy, like thinness, or the attention and favor of an iconic designer. And designers don't like big boobs.

Anon 3:30...Okasana whatshername is the Mel Gibson's latest ex. She has been in the news lately for trying to extort money from Mel in return for her not releasing his insane telephone rants. She has a daughter with him and her son is from her former relationship with Timothy Dalton. I don't know too much about her other than that. But I am pretty sure she can afford to buy the kid a birthday gift. Maybe I'm wrong...but I don't think so. She looks shifty.

Rox...the camera really does add weight. It added 16 lbs. to me since my last picture. Damn camera---you can't trust them!!

Does anyone know when all that freebie stuff for actors started?

miss tia said...

that's a good question jane....i think it started in the last 20 years or so....i am sure celebs always got freebies due to the possible publicity the companies got, but with the mass media now and the 'celebs' not being as managed as they were 50+ years ago, i would lean towards the last 20 years or so....

one good thing about the studio system was that stars were never seen in their underwear or falling out of a bar at 3am or practically having sex....studios controlled what went to press and their actions....their whole character was their concerns....

of course the downside was of course gays couldn't publicly be gay so they arranged 'lavender marriages' for them.....a rather faustian bargain for fame.....but so much more classier looking than what we have today....

Anonymous said...

Boy Miss Tia you sure know alot about Hollywood. How do you know that 50 years ago that celebs were not given freebies?? You really do think you are a know it all don't ya?

miss tia said...

i did not say they were not given things....i said it was not to the levels of today....i have read extensively on old hollywood....it's called learning....

stars were in iron clad contracts and to be given something could be invalidate their contract with a sponsor or the studios sponsor....marilyn monroe isn't given the credit she is due for fighting the studio contract system....most stars were scared of fighting the studios because they knew it would ruin them....

have a lovely weekend!

You are wrong Tia-

I do judge you, you put it out there and I judge. I have a good opinion of you based on your conversations and your blog.

And I will say what I choose to you. I am not a troll. I am commenting on a regular, angry, unbalanced poster who lives at Pat's blog.

Apparently I am not the only one.

So I will give myself a name to satisfy you.

She does live her on Pat's blog ALL DAY LONG she is here. First to always post when Pat post something new - ALWAYS here to comment immediately to anyone who questions here. Maybe JUST maybe if she put the effort into finding a job that she does posting here and writing her 10 page incomprehendable blog she wouldn't be in the miserable place she is.

Miss tia = indignant

miss tia said...

i am usually quite indignant...haven't heard that word in awhile....

obviously, as a poster you have no respect for pat or blog bringing your hatred for me here....you could always post it on my blog, oh yeah, i'd unscreen your comments....but no you bring it here to cause dramz on pat's blog and that's really rather rude and disrespectful towards her...

i do not owe you an explanation for my life....i know people who work who are in the same financial boat as me, so your judgments hold no dice...nor do i care....

you will not prevent me from posting here with your hatred towards me if that is your intention.....this is the last reply you'll get from me....

pat, i'm sorry i'm a troll magnet and i apologize for the dramz they bring here...i wish they'd take it over to my blog....

Anonymous said...

I don't agree with long, drawn out attacks on the posters here but why is it that on this blog, every time someone who posts an opinion contrary to the regular's opinions they are labeled a troll?

Not a troll,just curious

the bitchy waiter wrote a blog post today about celebs wanting free stuff in restaurants!

Anonymous said...

Well if the bitchy waiter has a post about it - I guess is makes everything Miss Tia said correct. Bitchy waiter sounds like a 15 year old kid - like, yeah, umm, ya know....Lets take his point of view as gospel - (sorry for the religious reference - but it is a common saying - I don't want to get all of you worked up b/c of the word "gospel")

Miss TIa, I like your posts. You're outraged about the same things that outrage me.
Ignore the dumbass troll.

I don't know, just because you're rich doesn't mean you should waste your money.

If I were rich, I wouldn't spend a few thousand dollars on a dress I was only going to wear once (because you know if she wore it again the paps & fashion police would be FREAKING out.) I'd rather spend the money on books or donate the money or something.

And honestly, acting's a lucrative but unstable career. If you develop a taste for designer clothes, you're going to be in big trouble when you stop getting roles.
