Gabe in his garage sale car. Tight fit there, buddy. That's what you learn from Grandma Pat. Buy used, save your money. He likes candy and dogs. I have both. We're good.
He's precious. You rock the yard sale...I love that car! It's cooler than anything I've seen. A vintage car.
I am a sh*t magnet to the highest degree, so the universe throws lots of curveballs at me.
It's nice when things go the right way for people I care about--as they have when the kids were placed with you, and their mother is seemingly working to get it together.
You had a miserable "mother thing," but you stopped the cycle. It makes the world a little less ugly to know the system's working for the kids and you.
I'm feeling very reflective. My uncle has been winning the battle with cancer for 4.5 years. Just found out a few hours ago the fight is over, cancer won. The docs at Duke stopped all treatment. Hopefully hospice will give him the comfort and dignity he deserves at the end of his life. It's really bizarre to speak to someone over the phone when they've just found out their time is coming to an end. Cross your fingers for me that I can be a good support system to my family.
I'm away from my family and new at work, so I didn't have anyone to share it with last night or today. I haven't heard from my aunt and uncle today--I have a feeling he's actively dying and they are saying the goodbyes. I tried to call my cousin's hubs, he's home with their two girls, no answer.
My uncle is a character, so maybe he'll visit me in my dreams one day.
It's hard to believe he is that big already, Pat! He is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteDarling! Looks like he might exhaust the end of my day I might not even make it til noon. Busy.
ReplyDeleteHe's a nice sweet boy who laughs a lot. He's never mean.
ReplyDeleteTheir mom was granted unsupervised visits today. Good. I think.
