Aint that cute?

Discount Gun Sales has teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to offer a pink version of its popular Walther P-22 handgun in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's $429.99.

I checked it out, this is a gun I would buy if I needed a gun. And I think all women who live alone need a gun. It has front and rear sites, a fixed barrel, safety features, the trigger weight is good, so it won't just go off in your hand. Most important, it has a loaded chamber indicator. That's very important in a pistol as opposed to a revolver, because of the clip. I think it's cool. A .22 is not a big weapon, it's a small weapon. That means you need to take some lessons to be accurate. Most women are very good at using a .22. It will get the job done.

If by some chance you are not one of the women who has great hand/eye coordination, then get a shotgun. A 12 gage will pepper their ass from the front door to the garage and you don't have to aim for shit. Trust me. You'd be surprised how quickly no gooders will scatter when you yell, "I'm a woman alone with a gun and no felony convictions, I have one commin'!"

I like that it's a nice, bright, easy to see color. I hear that men are particularly afraid of women with a gun because we tend to empty the clip in them once we start firing. I think that a marvelous strategy. How many times have I yelled at the screen, "shoot them again!" It would completely change the ending.

Just don't give one to Demi Moore.

Very pretty. I am very close (tax return, probably) to getting my first gun and I have been seriously looking at the Walther p380 I think it is. This one is smaller, but so cute it could be a contender. Can you get it with a laser sight? Will have to look it up.

Smaller is better for a woman. Assuming it would be carried in a purse. If you go to a good gun show, you will find someone there selling purses that have compartments for guns. These are good leather purses with some style and a safe way to carry a gun. They are worth looking into.
You wouldn't want your hairbrush to kick the safety off you gun and cause an accident.

And a shotgun is a good home defense system. You can't beat them.

Christina, There is an interchangable barrel. I think you can convert it. You can with the regular Walther P-22 handgun.

Jane, yep. The .22 isn't a lot of power, you can't blow someone's head off with one. It makes a small hole. You have to be close or be good. I'm sure you know that. I once killed a rabid coon in the midst of an attack with one shot from a .22. I was told that's not easy. I aimed between the eyes. There wasn't even a drop of blood, but, it dropped the coon.

PS, yeah, I think large guns have too much kick back for someone my size. I'm more comfortable with the .22 or a shotgun. I like a revolver myself. I think they're safer, but, that's personal. I don't think anyone should live in the country without a gun. Even if it's not for defense, there is always some problem animal you have to put down. Sad, but, true.

Just out of curiosity, have you had to yell "I'm a woman alone with a gun..."?

My NRA teacher said to repeat this to every person I see, "I thought he was going to kill me," if I ever discharged my weapon.

I have the Walther ppk380. I am a small woman(100lbs) and really like the gun. It's not too heavy and there is very little recoil. If it's good enough for James Bond-it's good enough for me.
Yes, you can get a laser sight added on it. But with a little practice, you shouldn't need it.
I agree with everyone about the .22 You have to be very accurate and in a crisis you may not be.

Hey Disher! I know I don't post often, but I do really enjoy your blog.
