SourceSigh. I don't even know how to say this. I am so jealous of Tyra I could put out a hit on her. But, I'm so low rent, a 'hit' would be me hitchhiking to wherever Tyra lives and living under a bridge until I could sneak up on her and pull her wig off. Tyra recently received her "Harvard University’s Executive Education Owner/President Manager Program" diploma. WTF?
So, I read and it's a status degree that you attend a three week course for and pay a shit load of money and Harvard hands it to you and bazinga, you are an alumni. Now, I am not one of those people who thinks Tyra is dumb, I don't. I think she's obnoxious. Because she thinks she's a genius. Which she's not. She got lucky. She probably worked hard too, which I do admire.
Here's my deal. Her working hard and my working hard are two different things in my opinion. I desperately wanted an education because I didn't want to be thought of as a dumbass anymore. I didn't go to high school, I worked. I had a kid. That's not Tyra's fault. But, I was accepted to a university with a prestigious art program based on scores that came from my brain. I graduated a four year program that took most people at least five years, in three years. I studied all day and then worked in shitty bars all night. When most people were passing out from last call, I was schleping my sleeping kid home and putting him in bed and then doing my assignments before nodding off for a couple of hours and then getting up at 6 am to do it all over again. I went to school every Summer and took my kid with me. I got special permission from the head of the department to do that, and also to take over 30 hours per semester. He wished me luck, but, told me, flat out, he didn't think it could be done. Not only did I do it and graduated ahead of my class, but, I was always on the deans list. Bragging? I think I have a little right to. I worked my ass off. Oh, and did I tell you it was a 40 mile commute every day, one way? In a rusty Pinto? Yeah.
Now, Tyra, with all her bucks, just bought her a Harvard diploma. And in a couple of years everyone is going to see her damn Harvard diploma hanging up in her mansion and they will totally forget how she got it and Tyra will become the model who graduated from Harvard. And yes, that pisses me off. I know some of you worked just as hard as I did not to be called a dumbass and well, aren't you pissed off too?
I have a measly 12 hours to go to get a second degree. It's just accumulated hours I have from things I thought I needed to slip in there and learn, but, even if I go back for a few weeks and get that other degree it wouldn't be Harvard, would it? Goddamn Harvard. And screw Tyra. Her mother should have named her Tyrant. It would have been more appropriate. And screw spell check because in my book, dumbass is one big word. Dumbass. Harvard. Eat me.

Does this mean that heidi klum will be a yale grad, cindy crawford a princenton and naomi a m.i.t grad? LOL... Wow.. is this the forthcoming ?
Not to brag but I have one those condensed program (GSD) Degrees from Harvard ... Class of Summer 1999! SO I'm unimpressed. Harvard has a bunch of programs you can earn in a summer and they are not as expensive as you think.
Hey, you got your degree at least. Maybe you weren't a fresh faced 18 year old but the story behind getting it probably makes you appreciated all the more. I know a whole lot of 18 yrs who dropped out because they had it easy. (Hand raised)
I went back to school at 37. I'm the only one in my family that has a degree (counting Harvard I have 4 actually) .... Ha ha ha ... believe me they treat me no different! SO I guess I'm saying its never too late for Harvard .... 3 weeks ...that's a vacation!
I'm mad because I want one and I can't even afford groceries this week. I hate Tyrant anyway, she's so obnoxious.
Yes, ABC, they're all genius models. I am going to puke now.
You can buy anything anymore.
ANON
If I were a REAL Harvard grad I would be pissed off. And by real, I don't mean one of the rich kids who think they are entitled to that degree. I mean the ones who really worked (studied) for it. (And I guess that would go for any college.)
What's your degree in, DD?
BSE art education (k-12)
You're an art teacher! That's so awesome!
then why are you working in a crazy psychic store and not using your degree that you worked so hard for??
I'm happy, I'm good at my job and I'd have to commute a long way to work at teaching. I do sub sometimes still.
