Angel, the toddler found in an Indiana farm field after the deadly tornado, has died. Her mother, father and siblings were killed at the scene and now Angel has passed away from brain injuries, she died in the arms of her grandmother. We were all pulling for this kid, I know. It just hit me so hard. I mean, jesus, how is this fair? WTF is karma thinking pulling this shit? It's just not right.HERE's a story about a mother who lost both her legs but, managed to save her children. The kicker is, they were in the basement! They always tell you to go to the damn basement and it can't get you. I always thought that was half hooie, because the shit can come down on top of you. You know it can. That poor woman.
So, now, not only has there been tons of senseless death, but, the damn sky decides to drop snow on the whole mess. Are you kidding me? Like, people have nothing left but rubble and destruction and horrid grief and now they have to be in the cold and shovel snow?? I think I'd be tempted to just blow my head off and get it over with. Seriously. This shit is not fair! Welcome to Spring in the Midwest. Jesus.

I don't know why this set of tornadoes has touched me so. I've read the articles and I've seen the pics. One article was about a man in Ala. who has had 2 houses destroyed in 10 months. He had only been in his new house for 2 months and now it's gone. He said he has decided to rent for a while.
The deaths and injuries are more than I can think about. How do they have the strength to go on? These people are amazing. And I feel so bad for them. It's hard to find the right words.
I know! There are so many heartbreaking stories and not enough help for these people. Geez, it's beyond belief and now that poor toddler dies. I can't stand it.
HER NAME was ANGEL? You could link this with the story Oral Roberts said Tornadoes come from not enough prayin'...sigh.....
Sad story.
Does anyone know why my comments have garbage cans in the bottom left hand corner? I'm starting to get a bad feeling abiut this. It's like anything I have to say is trash. It's really bad when your own computer makes you paranoid!
the garbage can means you can delete your comment if you wish....
i knew there was some tornadoes but i haven't been online much the past few weeks to read the news....how horrible....that poor little baby....
i've always heard basement and/or bathrooms.....but really, when mother nature unleashes, there's nothing that can protect anyone....billions spent on killing people we don't like, but how much spent on trying to stop tornadoes from forming? or trying to divert hurricanes?? i mean the chinese (FUCK CHINA!!!!! and russians will seed the clouds with some silver compound to make it rain.....i don't think nature should be messed with necessarily, but if we have the technology and could save lives and billions in property damage.....
One woman said they got a 9 min. warning but before she could move to cover, it was on them.
Miss Tia...since we don't have basements, we are told to go into the bathtub (I have 2 large mirrors on 2 walls) or if you are outside, into a deep ditch. The one time we had a warning, the ditches were full of water. My house had a good center hall---where I am now, not so good! I would be in such a state of panic, I would probably have a heart attack. I hope FEMA has their shit together for those people.
i wouldn't have faith in FEMA....not even after katrina....and the red cross can go fuck themselves....they have a law/rule now (after katrina, bush signed it) that they have to allow pets into shelters---in a different area, but still, they are to allow them....they still don't abide by that though....red cross is on my permanent shit list though after this fucking woman was JOKING when my best friend's house caught fire (they come out after house fires to offer 3 days in a hotel, $160 voucher ---well a debit card--for food/clothes and i'm not complaining about that, that is helpful) but she was JOKING --or trying too---to a man who knew his 10 year old german shepherd was dead and at that time thought 5 of his 6 cats were dead and he knew probably all his belongings were gone (most important to him though were the furbabies).....i set that bitch straight that you do NOT joke at a time like that....called the local office to complain about her too.....i even said i had a friend who had done fire calls and she asked who and i told her and she said that she had trained her, and i said "i know damn well she didn't train you to crack jokes"....talked to pat (my friend) the next day and she was appalled....she said that woman would end up loosing her job because you do not joke when people have lost everything and their furbabies....sorry, red cross rant....FUCK THE RED CROSS!!
anyway....tornadoes can happen so fast, they could say a 9 minute warning, and yeah, i could see it would be on them within a minute or 2 after of that....i think you would internally be panicked but would remain level headed enough to get to a safe spot....figure out the safest spot in your place and occasionally think of how you'd get to it quickly.....if the bathtub has mirrors on the side, have a thick tarp close by (under the sink) so if you go there, grab it and cover yourself with it to protect yourself from the glass.....if it shattered, knowing those bathroom mirrors, it would probably sort of stay in one piece....
i don't think i could live in a tornado prone area with my critters.....i'd die trying to round 'em up....i'd never abandon ship without everyone.....
Yeah, Jane, what Tia said. You can delete your own comments on here.
Tia, I've been following your stories about your friends fire. Heartbreaking.
thanks DD....
My grandfather never liked the Red Cross due to the way the troops were treated by them in WW2. So yep...big ole middle finga to the red cross!
Our news is full of the stories, daily. I am about 2.5 hrs north of all this devastation. It's unimaginable. The news guys on the air are crying too. It's like the tsunami down there. The lady that saved her kids, lost parts of her legs, lived in a big, brand new McMansion. Looked safe to me too. She's the mom, we give up our legs for our kids, if needed. Thats why we are the mom's. I also loved the story of the NFL'r that got a big $43+ million contract and played for $500G last year as an undrafted player. He was crying when he was asked why he never complained about it. He told about how his mom pawned her wedding ring for groceris when they were kids and he worked 3 jobs so she wouldn't have to worry about keeping their lights on. THAT's why the man didn't complain about $500G salary! That one got me too. It always goes back to your family, everything. xo
