The Lovin' Spoonful "You Didn't Have To Be So Nice" 1965
Someone in Abbyland said they had money saved to hire The Lovin' Spoonful to play at their funeral. It cracked me up. Does anyone remember these guys? How old ARE you? OMG, how old am I?? You just find the strangest mind tweaks at Abbyland.

Hot town, summer in the city Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
I loved them. Remember the line in 3 Men & A Baby? Ted Danson threw a party and The Young Rascals were playing on his jukebox. Ted stopped and asked a guest "wahat ever happened to those guys?" Reply "Man they got OLD!" Loved it never forgot it. But I just watched a Stones concert from 2013 yday and Mick and the guys are the same amazing rockers at 70. They still got it, Mick still prances around the stage as always, never stands still. Dances. Charlie never misses a beat and Ron & Keith are f'g amazing , still. Thank gawd, none of them have ever F'd with their faces. Nobody rocks like the originals. Never will. That generation and mine that followed are still solid and rocking. Last night I indulged myself in my Queen Live At Wembley. From 1986. Their music is HARD! It's intellectual. Almost mathmatical. Genius. Queen was/is a 1 & only. Nobody can do what that generation continues to do. I am in awe. We truly are Not Worthy. But I am thankful I was around to love it. Sorry to blather. Music is important to my happiness. <3 Lol.
Roxanne, I've watched that Queen show a couple of times and it always make me cry. There will NEVER be another voice like Freddie's. The man had it all--- except enough sense to protect himself. How could he do something so stupid? I could listen to Queen for days.
@Jane: So happy to hear you too, love Queen. I bought the double DVD a few years ago, but I only treat myself to it on occasion. When Freddie announces a new song "Who wants to live forever", I could die. I teared up. Then he sings it, like a GD angel. It was a new song then, 1986. That was his last public show with Queen. They still recorded as a band, but his appearance began to change drastically a couple of years later, he was so gaunt. He still looked strong and athletic in the 1986 video. He looks great in it but apparently was already ill, but unaware. That show on DVD has gone platinum dozens of times. But that's why. It was his last. Their Live Aid performance the year before was voted the greatest Rock Performance ever. To be honest, it was the 80's, did anybody really know being protected could save lives? It was all a guessing game then. I f'g love Queen. Always did. I miss Freddie. Adam Lambert just ain't gonna cut it. Go home little boy. You aren't worthy.
You know Adam could never fill Freddie's gold lame' jumpsuits. I had a very close friend to die of AIDS and they were aware as for back as the 70's. His excuse---"I didn't know my partner as well as I thought." He was smarter than that. Freddie should have been too. I have never passed the "mad" stage of my friends death.
I'll never forget the day my friend came out to me. He was surprised that I already knew. He asked me how and I had to hesitate before I told him----he was a real floaming queen. It was hard not to know. (He was shocked and so surprised, I had to laugh.)
