Jett Travolta..Autistic?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Seems I'm the last person on the net to hear this rumor, but, I can tell you there have been many times I wondered why it was so impossible to find a current photo of Jett Travolta. You can find tons of his baby pics, and a few of him as a toddler, then they dwindle off. The Travolta's daughter, Ella Blue is everywhere. She's a beautiful kid and there are plenty of pics of her, but, no Jett. I just thought Jett didn't like photos..he's a teen now and maybe he's camera shy. I dunno. But, then there's the fact that Jett is never out with them in public, but, Ella often is. Something is not right about that.

Scientology does not recognise Autisim. Ron L. Hubbard called anyone with a mental difficulty "a degraded being." Scientology has a rabid hatred of psychiatry and judgment of those with psychological problems as lesser humans responsible for their own sickness.

Sooo, the Travolta's blame thier sons disablitiy on "environmental toxins" like carpet cleaning chemicals. But, most people believe Jett is autistic and not getting the help he should have because of his parents beliefs. All I know is, if the kid is autistic and in a family of Scientologists, he's pretty much screwed, and that's sad. Very sad.

Weirdos! Of course they don't like Psych evaluations. L. Ron probably got all sorts of bad news when he visited one.

If the poor boy is autistic and they have ignored the help that is available then they should be taken to court by Child Services. If someones has diabeties or cancer they would be held responsible if they are reported as irresponsible parents...even Jehovahs Witnesses get taken before a judge if they refuse blood transfusions for their children, so why is JT exempt????

Give him some niacin and a couple hours in a sauna - he'll be fine.

Okay I hate scientology, fuck the whole religion. Brainwashing fuckers!

I agree wiht Nadine, if this is true and not a rumor, This is a serious problem and I think wrong.

Anonymous said...

I have heard too about this and they don't seem to want to recognise it - it is very sad. What is even sadder is money is not the problem here to get help.

Just another example of the bubble that these people live in. They don't feel responsible because they haven't been accountable for a long time. Poor kid.

hey if you want an up to date picture of Jett Travolta
go to Google and type in Jett Travolta and the FIRST
web link is called Celebrity Kids or something very
close to that, they have many pictures of the Travolta
kids and if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the
page you will find very recent pictures of the kids.
BOTH OF THEM!

Yes, and recent photos of Jett look like there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with him. Not too mention all the weight gane which goes with the junk food/video game rumor.

John Travolta's son dies in Bahamas

There should be an investigation of Jett Travolta's death. According to the Church of Scientology, people with mental illnesses are “degraded” capable of curing themselves by working harder on the church’s teachings. Scientology is a dangerous cult that destroys lives. Using mind-control techniques such as lie-detectors, interrogation, blackmail and “disconnection” (shunning of loved ones), Scientology strips people of money and autonomy. Ruthlessly attacking all perceived enemies with its Fair Game Policy, Scientology intimidates witnesses into silence.

Anonymous said...

My son is autistic and all the therapy in the world has not cured him as uninfomred people think he can be. Love and acceptance are most important. By giving him the love and acceptance he needs and deserves he has shown more growth than the 8 years of intensive therapy we have had him in. Until you have a child with autism you have NO idea what works and doesn't. For some kids therapy does work and for some it doesn't. I am sure they loved their son regardless- don't judge people until you have walked in their shoes. Tragic loss for them - So sad.

It saddens me that many are so quick to judge...especially with so little information and about something as serious as parenting (specifically on child's health). I don't feel Travolta and Preston should be questioned about Jett's treatment, etc. because they are Scientologists. Scientology does not involve not doing what is in the best interest of your child. They're not being brainwashed, please, give me a break. Stereotypes of Scientology is just like any other stereotype (exageration of misinformation from the ignorance of others). FYI, I am not a Scientologist. Whether they choose to label or diagnose the illness as "autistic" really has nothing to do with how they choose to treat the illness. On another note, through my own experience and research, I believe there is validity to the affect and influence toxins have on one's health (physiologically/neurologically and developmentally). It is those that are quick to shun such logical explanations that concerns me.

Jett Travolta is dead! omfg i can't believe it! He died today in the Bahamas because he hit his head in the bathtub while having a seizure. He was only 16

Anonymous said...

Who cares if he were autistic or no. He was loved and I, a mother of a special child know that. If I go out I usually take my son to places where there can be an open space and he can play or do whatever is he is doing. Why not take him out to a reunion, or close spaces, because he gets bored and he doesn't know how to deal with just sitting and waiting, sooo, instead of accussing the Travolta family, you should morn with them and send your deepest simpathy, because losing a son is never easy.

Anonymous said...

So sorry to learn of Jett's passing. I hope the media is kind and respectful to the Travolta family during this painful loss.

Anonymous said...

This is a tragedy indeed. I did not suspect Scientology played a role in his treatment until now. If he has been denied medical treatment and therapy on religious grounds then Jett has paid the ultimate price for that.

John's a good man though and I know he did his best.

RIP Jett and deepest condolences to John and his family.

THE BUBBLE BOY HAD HIS OWN BUBBLE BOY....WHO KNEW!??

As a mother of an autistic son, I have looked at the pictures of Jett and yes it's very obvious that he had an autism.
It saddens me that John and Kelly could not be brave enough to bring him out to show off to the public and admit that thier son had an autistic. So now they can "relax" without worrying about mixing autism and media. I'm really disgusted of them and I can't bring myself to watch John and Kelly anymore- especially if they still "denied" thier son's autism.

Anonymous said...

scary. I just googled this because I was wondering what happened? - the news just said he 'suddenly died'. Hopefully he got the medical attention available to people in the 21st century not just scientology approved methods. poor kid.

Anonymous said...

Jenny McCarthy's son has an autism and is on the treatment to prevent the seizure... It's common for autistic children having seizures, not "Kawaaski's Syndrome". OH please, Autistic children don't die from Kawaaski's Syndrom- the seizure does not go with Kawaaski's Syndrome.

Sorry to say that- but as long as John and Kelly "denied" that Jett had an autism and kept "showing off" thier daughter, Ella -non-autistic child- in the public.

I applaud Jenny for not being ashamed to bring her beautiful autistic son to EVERYWHERE!

May Jett Rest In Peace....

What the heck??? Jett has nothing to do with Scientology cult or having an autism! He was just a KID! It's all of John's fault for letting Scientology to control him and his family.

Alright, Let's crush Scientology down for good for Jett's sakes!

I'm a mother of a 17 year old autistic son and all I can say is you people have some nerve telling Travolta and Preston how they should raise their autistic son. I spent many years taking my son to all kinds of therapies and finally realized it was time to stop the insanity and just enjoy him. Did you ever think maybe that is what they are doing . . . just enjoying Jett? Why would they take him out in public, with all you vultures watching . . . so you can have more to talk about. Leave them alone! You have no idea what they go through everyday raising a son with a disability and they can call it whatever they want to call his disability. That's why this is free America. May God bless your family John & Kelly during this tough time in your life. I know the sweat and love you went through for 16 years and then to loose Jett is a tragedy.

With compassion and understanding for those who have endured the tremendous difficulties (and unique joys) of raising a special needs child, this story is not about special needs children. It is about the twisted and inhumane practices of what experts agree is a pernicious and inhumane cult - Scientology. It is about the perversion of reality and the denial of basic needs that suffering Scientologists endure - all in the name of pleasing their Scientoogy masters...through fear, coercion, empty promises and all manner of coercion, these vicious masters make people (and their poor poor families) pay a thousand indignities. Travolta's at the top of the food chain - he's treated very well. He enjoys the Hollywood luxuries afforded to Scientology celebrities. Look into the matter of slave labor that's been used to construct these luxury palaces, look into the pain and suffering they engender as more influential celebrities provide testimonials for this cult. A sad tragedy - but only the tip of the Scientology iceberg. Exposing the vicious ugly sad twisted truth of Scientology is the best thing that could ever possibly come of this tragedy. See www.xenu.net for more.

Now isn't the time to sit in judgment of grieving parents.

Nonetheless, preventing future such tragedies amongst the alleged 'religion' of scientology IS necessary.

What a pity that this child may become a martyr to the cause.

This is not the first time scientology has had blood on its hands.

I dont have an autistic child and thank the good lord that I dont. However I have a neighbour that does have an autistic son and they love and cherish him. There is nothing they can do but just try to keep him safe. Dealing with an autistic child is difficult when you go out in public because people dont understand. But dealing with an autistic child when you are a celebrity in the public eye would be even more difficult. I dare say Ella came to more of the public events just because it was more practical because she wasnt unpredictable. An austistic child probably would not really understand being at a charity event etc etc and would be bored and restless. I would never judge Kelly and John for "their" choice to not take Jett to all the functions. This does not indicate more love to Ella than Jett to more...It just may have been more practical. Please PLease Please I beg of everyone , dont make this painful period for the Travolta family any more harder than it has to be. They have just lost their 16 year old boy and I am sure they are suffering right now and dont need gossip from uninformed people who have not walked a step in their shoes. RIP Jett, you looked like a lovely loving boy.

Anonymous said...

Not ONE of you has any right to judge what the Travoltas have done with their son. You dont KNOW and I have no doubt they gave him a good life. I am also sure that there is not a ONE of you that is beyond reproach, as well, so go shake your finger at the person in your mirror, instead. Idiots.

i am deeply saddened by the death of any child, i think it would be even harder for celebrity parents, having to cope with all the gossip.. a child has died.. please everyone let them mourn in peace. The Travoltas seem like normal loving parents, trying to protect their children ( disability or not ) from any unneccesary media attention.

I am so sorry to hear of this young
man's death. I am sure he was loved and cherished,
Having a young boy the same age as Jett with autism, I can tell you it is not easy.
Autistic children do not enjoy being in the public eye. They do not enjoy having their pictures taken, or going to publicity functions. It would have been cruel for them to subject this boy to this.
God bless this family as they try to cope with this terrible loss.

Anonymous said...

God Bless his Soul! RIP Jett. While their religion didn't allow them to say Jett was Autistic, they donated thousands of dollars towards Autism Research, God Bless them for that.

Anonymous said...

He didn't die of Autism. He died of a seizure. When you have a seizure disorder, like they have said he had in the past, you need a anti -seizure medication. Something tells me he never got a medication of that nature, because scientologists dont believe in pscyho-tropic drugs. It was the uncontrolled Seizures that probably rendered him autisic over a period of time. This is just my opinion. But as a parent, you have the right to not treat your childrens Epilepsy for religious reasons. They are no different from parents that have to live with the fact they wouldn't let their child get a organ transplant because of religious beliefs. You don't technically have to treat autism with anything but Applied behavior therapy, diet, and developmental intervention. They simply chose to handle Jett's disability in the way their religion teaches them is correct. I feel absolutely terrible for their loss and can't imagine how those people must be feeling right now. But stop focusing on the Autism. They were doing what ever they felt they should. It sounds like an accident caused the seizure anyway.

Anonymous said...

Did you ever thing that the reason they didn't bring their son out that often was to protect him from the media? He has been diagnosed by so many people like you who consider themselves experts. A poster here said they could look at his picture and see he's autistic? Come on! Even a doctor can't do that! Just leave them alone!

Anonymous said...

John and Kelly are great parents and I know that they didn't do anything wrong here. My blessing go out to them and my heart hurts with them. Love to them.

There is no point in arguing about their religion or autism. None of that will bring this child back to life. We should let the family mourn in peace and remember what a blessing Jett was.

I am a teacher of children with autism and a mother of 2 children who are developmentally "normal". Autism is not a mental condition but a neurological one. A person with autism sees the world in a different way. There is nothing wrong with this person. I would guess that many of the geniuses of the world were more than likely autistic to some degree. These children do not need "help". It is not a medical condition. It is about learning. If these are parents who love their children and take care of their children and enjoy their children then eave them alone. Loving a child with autism, like any other child, is the best thing you can do for them!

I have a heavy heart about the death of Jett Travolta. I absolutely love John and Kelly !! I have children around the age of Jett and I cannot imagine losing either one of them !! What a terrible tragedy to lose a child !! We need to simply remember that they are human beings who love their children like we do BEFORE we should think of them as celebritities. Please let them have peace and leave them alone. Let them grieve together as any family would! Let them have their privacy .. please !! We need to lift them up in prayer like we would our friends and famiy !! I have a "God child" that has autism. His mother and I have been friends for 30 years!! He is wonderful and she is a fantastic mother. She knows what is best for her child. If Jett had autism, so what. Does anybody know your child better than you? No .. not a chance .. so nobody knew Jett like his parents. This is what we need to remember .. John and Kelly were his parents .. not celebrities. They were Jetts parents first .. and they hurt like we would if it was us. This is the important thing to remember !! I absolutely love John and even though I do not know him, think so very highly of him!! I wish the Travolta family my deepest and sincerest sympathy!! I will remember you in prayer! May God bless you !!

Whether or not Jett had autism is not anyone's buisness. Many celebrities do not show off their children. I have not seen Ella "paraded" around at all, so I do not know what other people are referring to. It is not like the Travolta's are on tv every night. They are not exactly popular among Americans. Sure people know who they are, but give me a break-they are not being hounded like some celebrities are.
As for other celebrities who choose to tell everyone about their children's problems, you may want to ask why they do it. Jenny McCarthy is no A-lister and I am sick of seeing her parade her poor son around so she can keep her name in the headlines. Just because she thinks vaccines hurt her child, doesn't mean they did. There is suspicion there may be a link, but no concrete proof.
I respect people who do NOT blame others for their children's problems, and those who keep their problems to themselves. People need to remember what having a private life means. Most of these people are full of crap when they say they are trying to raise awareness of various diseases/illnesses by putting the info on their own children out there. They do it because they want the media attention!
It is not up to other celebrities to out Jett Travolta or anyone else. The fact is, an autism diagnosis is not going to be accurate if it is based only on a picture of the individual "suspect". Leave the diagnosis to the doctors please.

Jett looks austistic- notice how he doesn't focus in the photos. He also was very rarely seen in public for 26 years. Jett was also very over-weight! I hope his obesity didn't contribute to his death. I wonder if these scientologists got Jett proper medical care for his problems. Tom Cruise says everything can be cured with Scientology vitamins. RIP.

Boy, lots of judgement here. No one actually lived with the Travolta's and it is none of our business. What parent would want publicity pictures of a supposedly unwell child all over the place all the time? I wouldn't. It just amazes and scares me how many people think they know what went on and then jump on the 'mob mentaility' bandwagon.

The thing that concerns me is....he went in bathroom on the 1st and no one found him until 10;00 on the 2?????? why didn't someone miss him???? So Society Lovin' Twit- If I ever were this FAMOUS parent of an autistic teenager and a non-autistic daughter, I would NOT take the daughter to any of the functions because it would not be fair to her autistic brother. Disablity or not, all children should be equal. You are so suckering into "What's the best" in the society just like Scientology does. Uptight Society does make the world so screwy after all.
Sucker up, accept Autism into the society and an epidemic of autism is still silently spreading all across the world. Get busy, learn more about it and try to get involved as much as you can.

It's my understanding that the private caretaker was there when the tragic occured. Where were the Travolta parents and other child?
They could afford anything to make thier lives 'more comfortable' without feeling pressured and compromised with a special-needed child. So yeah Karma gets to them after all.

This is such a tragedy. I have seizures that cannot be controlled by medication. I've hit my head and been injured many times.... it's difficult for my entire family. You don't know what it's like to find your child or your parent lying helpless on the floor after a seizure...worrying that they hurt themselves and seeing how disoriented they are. There is always the worry that they won't regain consciousness. I don't know how frequently he had seizures - but I average 5 per month and it's incredibly difficult on everyone. It's truly a horrible disorder. And regardless of their religion - there are many people with seizures that cannot be helped with medicine or surgery. My children, parents, friends and family have been struggling with me for six years. I know that my family would feel horrible and responsible if I ever hit my head so hard that I died. It's truly not fair to be judging the family.

My heart goes out to the Travolta family. They must be absolutely devastated. They don't deserve to be judged - they deserve our prayers.

I cant honestly say what their sons conditon was or how he was treated; No one here can. Though, I find it odd that everyone is now worried about 'gossiping' & 'casting stones.' Yet, no one minded before.
I can speak as a mother of an autistic child when I say, if their son was autistic, it would be understandable not to take their son to large events if it would have been overstimulating for him. As a parent, you do what works and is in your childs best interest. However, if their son was autistic and they werent doing what was necessary for him (ie. applied behavioral therapy, etc.), that is just wrong. I am in no way casting stones when I state my opinion - as I said, I dont know what is or isnt & I have not claimed to.
One thing that I do recall that does still bother me was this quote: "I would like another son, because we’ve got our princess, one beautifulprincess, and I think it would be have fun to have another boy." ~ John Travolta

Rest in peace, Jett. I hope the family can find peace for themselves as well.

The ignorance on this site is overwhelming. You could "see" just by looking at a photo of Jett that he was autistic. How pathetically stupid and ignorant are you. Even the most brilliant doctors in the world would never be ignorant enough to say that. The Travoltas would be beside themselves with grief right now as any loving parent would be. If you really knew anything at all, you would understand that the Travoltas were only protecting Jett from mongrels like you so he wouldn't have to read things about himself like "I could see he was autistic by just looking at him."
Also referred to here as "fat and ugly". What decent parent would want to subject their unwell son to comments like that. There are a lot of miserable nasty pathetic people in the world and its little wonder there is so much cruelty and crime in the world considering the really ugly minds some you have. RIP Jett. You are going to a much better place than half the people on here. Love to John and Kelly who were - and still are absolutely terrific loving, caring parents.

I work with special needs children and when I saw a current video of him, there is something definitly wrong with him. If he is autistic he should of not be left alone for long. This is such a sad situation and I hope that people with think twice about scientology and it treats people with disorders. I wonder what Tom Cruise thinks now, he,s such an idiot!

May Jett rest in peace and may his family rejoice in the fact that he was theirs, however short the time. He was cherished and loved and that's what counts. His parents and sister and the rest of his family will always grieve his loss and life will go on. No matter what their beliefs may be and no matter what the rest of the world thinks, he was a beloved son and will be missed forever.
God bless you and give you comfort.

In the news clip Kelly looks pregnant, is she? Also, you can look at him in the news clip and know that he is autistic. It is sad that they chose not to believe this and have him tested.

I have several friends with autistic children who are now teens, and have worked with autistic teens in medical settings....those families and kids have a rough road. Even with therapy and appropriate education for their entire life, it can be very difficult to take a severely autistic child out in public, since they may have a meltdown over nothing at all (or napkin in wrong place, wrong color of crayon, just feel like standing on the table etc); behave totally inappropriately for the setting (masturbate in front of other people in public, or take all of their clothes off, for instance). I am not surprised that Jett disappeared from the family pics for the most part as he got older and harder to manage. Even in the recent CNN videos it appears to take John + two other adult men to get Jett out the door of a hotel and into a waiting car. Jett looks confused the entire time.

If he had had Kawasaki as the Travoltas claim, there is no reason he couldn't have attended all the movie premiers and fun things Ella has clearly been able to do. Untreated autistic behaviors (along with the fact that he was a very overweight teen who would have given even his dad a rough fight when agitated) would have made these activities impossible.

it doesn't matter now if he was an autistic child or not. i feel bad for him that he dies that way and for his family to loose him.

It's not that we think they did not love Jett but scientologists are taught that the mentally ill are not proper humans and have brought it on themselves. Also they could have given him frightening treatments involving high doses of vitamins and sauna wraps. This would be very scary for any kid let alone one with mental health issues. Scientology is a brainwashing and disturbing cult that has been responsible for other deaths through lack of treatment etc. And Jett may have needed drugs to help with his fits that they probably would not have given him. Very sad.

everyone hug your kids a little bit longer tonight. I too was so angry with John and Kelly for not getting the help that Jett needed for his autism. It does not lesson the pain they feel. They are probably kicking their selves now because they chose to ignore his condition. we will never know what they did or did not do for their son. I too am really concerned that noone checked on him from the time he went to the bathroom on thursday until he was found on friday. He should of always had someone with him. I do applaud them for not exposing him to the public all these years. I do believe they were good parents, just not informed enough about Jett.
God bless you Jett. I hope you find peace. God bless the Travolta family in their awful time of tragidy.

Why would John subject his son to all kinds of verbal abuse and disection of the way his son is effected by autism?
They loved this child very much to quote John himself on the Australian Denton show
Jett is my.my baby, my. He's my first and he's my heart. And he's a very special boy. And he, uh.is very. He's Daddy's boy. And, uh.and we spend a lot of time together even though I'm pretty busy. He loves the outdoors and he loves to travel. He loves being on the plane. We fly in the ultralight together. And, uh.he, uh.he likes to climb trees and swim.

It's clear he loves out door activities, why would John and Kelly want to subject the child to being at movie premiers and other functions?

I also find it weird and strange how people on here are sending their blessings and their prayers and saying he will go to heaven etc...
The travolta's don't believe any of that? If you knew about his cult, then you know it would be a waste of time even suggesting such a crazy thing to them.
It is true that scientology has a fair game policy...if you do not agree with their teachings then you are fair game... and they will destroy you in any manner they can.

I have no doubts at all that John and kelly are suffering and devestated by the loss of their son. I wonder if their cult will go to them and say, never mind he was fair game and and needed to be exterminated.
This may sound harsh to people reading this... But this is the beliefs and pratice of scientology.
John also believed because he was an operating thetan
that he had the ability to control energy, space, time and matter,
Why couldn't these powers that he believed he contained prevent this horrid accident?
In final, another statement from John on the denton show.. about death.
maybe it's part of the life cycle and I have to just accept it as a reality."
So I was probably a little more prepared than your average fella.

20 YEARS AGO I was approached on the streets of Sydney to do a personality test. At the age of 18 I agreed. I was taken to a building of which I noted was called THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY. I sat for the 'personality test' (read psychological test) which was then reviewed for results (read psychoanalysed). The results - I was ok but a little unpredicatable - to which I replied "so what is the problem with that?".

The interviewer (read psuedo psychologist) told me that this was in fact a problem that needed attention and the Church of scientologists could "help me". while he was psychoanalysing me he answered a telephone call and used several expletives in the conversation he was having with the thrid party. I asked when he had finished with the call that I thought this was a church so why all the swearing - to which he replied that it really wasnt a church!!

A few things:

1. SCIENTOLOGY IS NOT A CHURCH OR RELIGION - it is a mind fucking cult.

2. IF SCIENTOLOGY is against all forms of psychology and pshychiatry then why do they use this as their platform to recruit new members?? CAN ANYONE SEE THE GLARING IRONY???!!!!IS THERE AN ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM HERE???

3. WHO THE FUCK IS LR HUBBARD - WHAT (MEDICAL) QUALIFICATIONS DID HE HAVE, AND WHO THE FUCK WOULD TAKE AS GOSPEL THE WORDS OF A SCIENCE FICTION WRITER - ALBEIT A BAD ONE AT THAT??

That Jett was loved is no doubt, but most people would rather hide their problems than face them and as human beings we often rationalise things that we should not.

Furthermore if indeed Jett is autistic (as it appears he is), then his parents actions have placed the cause for autism and its related disorders back a hundred years. This disease requires more research and respect and this means facing the issue. People like the high-profiled Travoltas were in a position to do just that. No one is saying that they needed to be the poster parents of autism, but sweeping it under the carpet (in scientology this is acceptable as the disease does not exist per say) is also not acceptable as is the risk that they (they may have) placed the poor childs life in with their belief system that psychological or neurological disorders do not exist and so medical help will not be administered (what is anyting was being done for his seizures??).

I've read thru heaps of comments & lets face it folks....who cares about the religion..the Travoltas have lost a child and that alone is heart wrenching...plus...from all accounts - John & Kelly are not your A typical Scientologists..not like a couple of other celebs we know...
And - if you wish to point fingers at people who deny others medical treatment because of their religion then please don't just include Scientologists...Jehovah Witnesses also deny people medical treatment - one being blood transfusions.
As far as I'm concerned Religion has a lot to answer for-brainwashing for one..denial of medical treatments 2, dictatorial control 3....wake up and smell the daisies...most religions are money hungry blood sucking parasites who tell you what to do & when to do it..bahhumbug to the lot of them...I'm glad I'm an individual & they can't screw with me

I think everyone needs to visit John Travolta's site...www.travolta.com and go look at the pics in the gallery. There is a dedication to Jett - the photos are beautiful and show a happy kid with very loving parents....so to those who wish to condemn...my suggestion....go get a life.
Deepest sympathy to John, Kelly & Ella.
R.I.P. Jett.

All "judgements" aside, I can't help but wonder why the Travoltas would not acknowledge that their son was autistic? That is one of the red flags that scares me and leads me to fear that they were not doing all they could to treat his true disorder- a disorder that we are learning more and more about each day. And if Jett was autistic, why would the family have slapped the label of "Kawasaki's Syndrome" on his illness. Where they embarassed of his condition, or was it to do with stigma inside the church? I understand that many parents on here are upset that people are being critical with the Travoltas at this awful time but as the relative of a dear child with autism I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULD NOT HAVE ADMITTED HE HAD THE DISORDER. Why? As a parent of a child with autism, would you ever not admit that your son had autism? And further still, John's brother Joey runs many benefits and events raising money and spreading awareness for autism and he has come forth and said that neither John nor Kelly would admit that Jett was autistic even though Joey SAID that he believed unequivocally that Jett was- and that his parents would not accept the diagnosis because of their church teachings.

I am an advocate for children with disabilities, not some celebrity hungry hound looking to crucify two grieving parents. I will be very interested to see if the pathology report shows that Jett was taking anti-seizure medications. If he wasn't...this may have been a case of negligence. I am so sorry to say this, as the thought that Kelly and John did not care properly for their child is heartbreaking and very upsetting.

Everyone seems to be pointing the finger at John and Kelly for not placing the child on medication and not owning up to him having autism.
Lets just say, that they felt they had his condition in hand and maybe used other scientology methods to help treat his conditions. Maybe the travolta's did have great faith in their religion and believed that their cults teachings were the correct way to treat their son.
It's plain and clear that they loved Jett, and surely wouldn't neglect his needs.
But there is another issue here also..
Why aren't the nannies being held responsiable for what has happened?
If you place your child in care, shouldn't it be the care givers that are to watch and protect your child?
Now here is something else worth thinking about.
Why would the travolta's place their childs welfare and care in the hands of two scientology wedding photographers?
I don't know what other qualifications these nannies had except for the fact they shared the same beliefs in scientology?
If money was no object, why wouldn't you employ the best in the medical field who is equipt to take care of your child and his medical conditions?
The fact these nannies didn't check on the child and ensure he was tucked up safe in bed at night is wrong in itself.

I feel it is the nannies which should be accountable for this incident.

Some people should stop for one moment and imagine this happening to them and how would they might feel if the public and the rest of the world judged you at a time like this. Please make no judgements just be supportive.. Life is too short. People are so unhappy that it makes them feel better to attack others for any justification in most situations.

Things just happen. Life happens!

Wish upon others all the best. The world is and has always been quite messed up and we're all in this together regardless of who or where we come from.

Peace to all! Judgement and badgering others is for losers!

obviously he had a history of seizures
it was selfish to ignore this and try to hide him from the public eye
RIP Jett. you looked like a wonderful young man
this is all so sad
i do not want to make this time any more difficult for the Travoltas and i mourn for them... i guess Jett will become a martyr for trying to stop things like this from happening again

If Scientology says that they have vitamins that cure everything then why do we even have doctors or hospitals? Please inform me on why everyone is not given these wonderful pills that will make you super human? Tom Cruise says they have these vitamins and I say hand them over now to the entire world.
Oh yes and the poster previous who mentions Barack Obama what does he have to do with this? Another silly little republican putting his two cents in where it doesn't belong. You leave Barack be and tend to your own self.

Hello
I never get into celb. Life but the fact that Brett died from a seizure caught my attention and that’s how I happened on this web site. You see my Daughter has epilepsy and also had Kawasaki’s as a 1 year old. She has been on cont. medication, medication changes, Dr. Visits from Neurologist, Cardiologist as well as allergy specialist. She is now 16 and two years behind in school do to her medical problems and learning and speech and motor skills, problems. I am A Christian person who believes very strongly in my faith and have also made sure to follow all Dr. Recommendations with her. I call her my miracle child. But none the less when she came to me last year and said she wanted to be in a pageant. I almost said no, to again protect her from the poor child or whets wrong with her people who have no clue as they have not been in my or her shoes. But I agreed as she wanted it so bad. No she did not win but she was picked as a contestant and had a blast. I or any of you do not know the Travolta medical history with their son. But I would say in the entertainment industry you would have to do everything in your power to protect your child from people who don’t know what they are talking about, spreading rumors like these on this site. And we know they are rumors as no medical records have been given to anyone on this site. By the way I was also told my daughter was autistic and something was wrong with her. To shed a little more light on it. She has just been tested and found that while her comprehension skills are at a 60 her expressive skills are at a 95. The largest gap the dr. had ever seen. Why? Because I have made sure to teach her how to handle herself around judgmental people. And fortunately we have never had to be in the limelight. And she is also now a 1st degree black belt. She has had a lot to overcome. And yes what happened to Brett is my most continuous fear. I still wake up several times a night and check on her, I keep the longest medical letter in history of just what to do on her and each teacher or even her friends have a copy. I have given my career up to work any job that allows me to be close by at all times. Now and for the past 6 years she has come to my work after school so I can protect her as much as I can and help her with her school work. I still fear she is going to go to the bathroom and not come out one day. And from what I have read on this sight. It’s not the Travolta's religion that has passed judgment on Brett’s illness it’s you people passing judgment on the Travolta’s with nothing what so ever to stand on. If you have never been in theirs or anyone’s shoes that has anything other than a perfectly healthy child. Then you have no room to say anything. But I have no room to pass judgment on you either as I have not had the type of life or situation to be able to pass judgment. And by the way we also had a hard time with weight gain and her not looking or acting right, all brought on from seizure control medication and diet. I am very sorry to sound so critical myself. I am sure none of you mean to sound judgmental. But we as humans are so quick to voice our opinions without full knowledge of a situation and even add our own spin that we can cause more harm than good for grieving parents like the Travolta’s or anyone in the same situation. As for their beliefs, their in hundreds of religions out there with all different beliefs. And again we do not know how his condition was being treated. How do any of us know if they were or were not going against their beliefs and making sure he was under dr. care? We don’t know and in the event of a seizure if they are not out of it on their own within 30 min Brain damage begins. And death can happen and in some cases even a short quick seizure can cause problems or death.

My heart goes out to you and you are in my prayers as you mourn the loss of your beloved son Jett.

May you find peace and healing in one and other in the passing weeks and gain strength knowing that Jett remains a part of you always.

Precious Jett, may you be surrounded by angels always, rest in peace x

I grew up with an autistic neighbor. As a child, he was totally non-verbal. He would make a few grunts, that's about it. With years of therapy, he was able to develop language skills. The therapy did not "cure" his autism. But, it gave him a better quality of life. Didn't the Jett deserve the same opportunity?

How can so many of you decide for yourselves the circumstances in which Jett Travolta lived and died without knowing these people or any facts? The only thing people know for certain is that John Travolta and Kelly Preston are scientologists and I think people are using this as an opportunity to slam Scientology and pass judgment on how this boy lived and died and what his parents did and did not do.

I think Scientology is a cult too and has some pretty strange teachings but none of you have any first hand information and therefore it is cruel for you to assume that just because there are not a lot of photos of this kid, or just because his parents did not parade him around in public, that they somehow did not love, care or treat him in a proper way. He was their son and it was their decision and there is nothing which says they did not love and care for their son in a proper manner. The way in which they kept him out of the public eye considering their high profiles, was probably one of the most caring, loving things they could do. Would it have been better to parade him around in front of the paparazzi day and night which certainly would not have been good for any child, much less a child with any kind of special needs?

Be honest with yourselves, you know nothing about the life of the Travolta's. Leave them to mourn the tragic loss of their son in peace. Remember there is a real family behind these headlines who have just lost a son and a brother. Try to respect that.

Lots of people use birth control, drink alcohol, eat pork and get divorced despite their religion being against it.

Just because the Travoltas follow Scientologist quackery doesn't mean they didn't -- as parents and as a family -- acknowledge the kid's autism (if that's what he had) regardless of what Scientology thinks.

Jett was by most accounts on anti-seizure meds and was only taken off because of worry about liver damage. Happens all the time, balancing pros and cons. What is the magical well-known treatment for autism that we KNOW the Travoltas did NOT give him?

Bunch of other parents and lobby groups are just pissed off Travolta didn't use his celebrity to push whatever agenda they wanted him to push. He was under no obligation to publicly acknowledge his kid's problems to the press, his fans, or anyone else.

They seem like a great family. If they didnt get help for there son maybe its because they just didnt understand the seriousness of it or maybe they thought it would be ok. ITs not like diabetes or cancer like someone said. When they have autism they just give you drugs sometimes they help sometimes they dont. So people shouldnt jugde so harshly. What if it was you. But then again you wouldn't be able to comment because you dont understand all everthing that is going on.
