Jesus gets wired. Is it blasphemy or art? Is it nothing but a modern day interpretation or is it a joke? I really don't know. It caught my eye, can't say I like it, but, it's not boring. Maybe it's a statement about how utility companies crucify us. What do you think?

As you know @ Pat, I'm a practicing catholic but that pic doesn't make me angry.... all that came to my mind was "wow, someone sure wants Jesus to be seen by everyone not just those who go to mass"....
I find it less offensive than the toast and cheetos sold on ebay as religious relics because of a stain or disfigured snack that resembled Jesus.
utility companies crucify us! BRILLIANT!!!!
i think it's a statement! :)
I like eccentric art. I think you could pull a wealth of meanings from it.
I have respect for all belief systems and belong to none of them myself. I have always felt bad for the notion that a prophet and all round nice guy trying to bring some good into the world ended up crucified to begin with. His father was supposidly an all powerful deity, that's the only part that sometimes ruffles my feathers...
Freedom of choice to worship and sacrifice by example. Jesus did it willingly.
My 1st thought was - dang some church is missing their Jesus and that must have cost whoever originally bought it - a mint.
If it was a bit earlier, I would say a grade 12 class doing a year end thing, or some sort of initiation group, but I think it was someone that just wanted to get a shock value (no pun intended lol).
I too am a practicing Catholic and I was not offended at all, so if that was the intent, they probably failed, however, you always have your radicals lol, and I am sure though the 1st priest that sees it that it will be coming down very soon after that lol.
Jesus electrifies the world with his presence (could read that as good thing too lol)

I liked that, Crys. LOL.
They are going to put a lot of these religious symbols up around the country so we can pray to see a doctor when health care passes.
not art- boring and lame
very interesting and thought provoking. not sure i like it, but i'm definitely not offended. hmmmm.
I like the "art experts" on here. They probably stare at Garfield posters all day.
