Nice ears..yummy, yummy. Almost ready! Those little white rice things on it are NOT bugs, they are the corn tassles falling off. Hate to piss of the organic freaks, but, I dusted it with Sevin. Corn worms are gross and they better not even look at my corn!

Any tomatoes? Love BLT's and corn on the cob. Thats the one meal I can get all three of my daughters to stay home for dinner. The boyfriends usually come too though.
I enjoy your blog--just a thought, the fungus you saw the other day on your corn may have been "corn smut". look it up on wikipedia. it's there, I just checked. It's a real thing and we used to see it all the time while corn de-tassling as a kid. some people eat it. thanks for writing everyday. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

I have been eating nothing but corn, tomatoes, watermelon and green peppers for the last week and a half. I seem to be craving all of them. The farmers market in town loves me.

I love that type of corn. This may be gross to some but I love it the next day when it is cold. Just put some butter on it and eat it straight from the fridge.
I think that is because when I was growing up we did not have a microwave.

I love cold corn too! With chunky cold butter! I thought I was the only one! I always cook extra and put it the fridge for the next days lunch.

That is gross, Mom. It is great the next day for lunch. Two ears of cold corn with butter and salt in a bowl.
