Oh enough already!

Doesn't that swing look inviting? And the swings are pretty high off the ground. That's mom's house. Oh, well, it wasn't much to look at anyway. We are now getting a new blizzard. It's bad out there. Coming down hard and fast and the streets are slick as snot. I am not amused.

  1. Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. We have had ONE day of snow so far and I miss it... But I can see where the other extreme can be somewhat off-putting, to put in mildly... Can you get around in your car to get to the stores, DD?

  2. Just looking at that makes me so cold. I'm glad your power is still on. It is supposed to snow here tonight (NE Alabama) and I so dread it. Most of the schools here are closed tomorrow and Friday simply from the cold temps. Just the mention of snow here and the stores are flocked with people getting milk and bread. I will be fine with the snow as long as the power doesn't go off.

  8. Have the kids had much school lately in all this snow or is the town fully prepared for the weather? It's a hassle but the pictures sure look pretty and peaceful!

  9. I don't mean to sound like a pessimist but it is early January that huge pile of snow could be around for a very long time. Like late February or March. Shit. Cant wait to see how the yard looks once it all goes away. wow!

  10. You have my sympathy, but only if I get yours in return. About 750 miles to your East, my street looks the same. The dudes say we're going to get an 18 hour break on new snow. I'm working part time this week ... the entire check will be going to my snow plow guy. I really don't need to eat.
I've about had it with this winter. Only 3 more months of this crap.

  11. I've had it too. Stocking for days, frozen water pipes, living in the kitchen and you can't even drive. It's just..pee eww. Tired of it.

And the animals in the house..yuk.

  12. I bought a gallon of Fabreze today. It smells like wet cat and puppy pee in here.

  13. And BeeBee has a cold. Have you ever heard a rat sneeze? It's pathetic.

  14. At least so far, I haven't had your bone chilling cold and ice. (that will be next) Only snow, snow and more snow. If I lived 10 miles south, it would be worse. Sunday thru Monday, I got around 15-20", they got 40-50".

    Winter sucks.

  15. I'm just hoping that 25 n 30 degree below zero weather is done. Geez that was awful. I think it's 16 now, it's like a heat wave. lol. But, now, of course, that's perfect snow weather. It's just mean.

  16. Yep, it's been btw teens to 30here - so lots of snow. Until that damn lake freezes, the lake effect storms will continue. Most years it doesn't freeze, or maybe only part way across.

Oh, well starting next week I'll be working 6 days a week and 8-10 hour days. Won't have time to look out the window, and the office is only 10 minutes from my house (unless the roads are REALLY bad, then it's 30 minutes)

  17. I think that maybe CJ and I live closer to each other than either of us realize - LOL!

I just emailed DD pics from my yard on this past Sunday ... as of yesterday a.m., it was at 42" and still snowing! Break today, more to come tomorrow.

    Small world!!!

  18. You win the snow accumulation competition hands down Pat. But I had an adventure today. Weatherman said 1-3 today and I thought , no problemo. Go to town. Get cigs, dog food, haircut, thread, some groceries. Five hours later I head back up the hill (with at least 6 inches on the road), get part way up and i feel the tires spinning but still moving forward. Then where the hill starts getting steep.....spin spin spin....then the free for all sliding backwards. Thank gawd not sideways. Brakes were useless so I just kept sliding till I got back to the flat. Now I'm sitting in an intersection. Now there's an 18 wheeler coming down the hill (wtf is he doing up here?) Furniture truck wtf. He got the rig stopped and we had a conversation in the middle of the road. He waits there while I back up a half a mile down to the bottom where the Moose Lodge is so I can park there and then it's his turn, WHEWWW!!!! Of course there were cars backed up trying to come up the hill that had to wait for this clusterfuck to end. Some of them couldn't make it up either. Steve came down in the 4wd and saved me and a couple of the neighbors. Thank gawd cause I wasn't dressed for walking. Sweatshirt and canvas Keds and it's 10 degrees. Tell me again why I bought that useless Mustang?

  19. We're warming up too so now comes the snow. They're saying 6 - 8 inches starting after midnight tonight.

  20. Has anyone up there seen any signs of global warming?

  21. I just read about BeeBee. Will a rat eat chicken soup? Keep her(?) warm. Maybe place a warm lamp over the cage. Poor little heart!!

  22. I would love to have some snow. We had just the little taste last week, and it wasn't enough, and didn't stick over a day or two.
I admit to being a complete weenie, though. The minus temps that so many of you are experiencing are not a part of the deal. It's been in the low 40's with a brisk wind rattling the windows, (I don't know what the wind chill is today) and I thought I was going to freeze my buns off going out to the coop. I pretty much run straight out there and back. All of you going through this are real survivors and have my utmost respect. Seriously. I don't know how you do it.

  23. Hit here in Kansas too. So sick of snow. Keep telling Kim we could move to Arizona?? Not happening. Now I am so happy to hear that next week might hit 30.

  24. Bayou, yeah, BeeBee had some chicken soup. She eats what I eat. I made her a little blanket out of my old fuzzy bathrobe and a new cage cover to keep out drafts.

  25. we are expecting lake effect snow starting tomorrow at 10am thru saturday....we really don't have as much snow accumulation as areas around us here on north hill akron.....barberton (about 20 minutes south of here) has like 2 feet of snow....

THEY say we could be getting up to a foot.....we got sleet last night....and bitter cold this weekend....
