The latest Lissa fashion

All the girls are wearing them!!!! Hmm. I don't think all the girls are, but, some of them are. The cool ones, I'm told. We had a deal, if she was good all week and followed the rules with no argument, she could have one. She impressed me and earned two. Pink and blue. If she's good until Friday, she earns another one.

They have a school rule that says you have to leave them alone during class time or they become a distraction and you get one warning. She's never had a warning and loves matching them to her outfits. We had another name for feather extensions in the 70's. They were called Roach Clips. I'll keep that to myself. Classy, aren't they?

Adorable.
Women I work with have been wearing the long, trimmed down rooster feathers in their hair lately. They are dyed, but not beaded.
Very cute look, either way.
She looks like she is thriving in your care.

Best picture of L by far. She looks so pretty. It looks like your loving care for her has rubbed off in a very good way DD.

Contacts are the next stop for her.

Angie said...

Contacts? She's seven, you dumbass.

Dirty Disher said...

She was getting ready for school and I hadn't hosed and squeegeed her glasses yet.

Dirty Disher said...

Yes, troll, there are classier feather extensions, even here in BumFark. She didn't want those. She wanted these "big nice" ones. Now go crawl back in your filthy hole and use your day to tax your pea brain thinking up more insults for an innocent child who doesn't know you exist. What a life you have.

She's adorable Pat! Her face is glowing from all that good Grandma love!!! My sister had roach clips when we were growing up, you gave me a good chuckle.

A-Gran said...

LMAO! As soon as I saw this I remembered wearing those in grade school too. I had no idea what they were for. I honestly thought they were barrettes.

Fucking troll, it's not even noon yet. What kind of miserable existence do you have that leads you to share your personality defects before your breakfast is even finished digesting?

Dirty Disher said...

Thanks! The cowgirls wore them on thier hats. It used to make us laugh.

A-Gran said...

Ahh, the comment I was referring to is gone now. Good. What kind of fucking creepster even notices a child's undergarments? I can honestly say I've never noticed that part of her. Nasty fuckers...

Dirty Disher said...

We have some sick fuckers trolling. Soon one of them will be revealed.

Nice behavior. Do you know that contact lenses don't have a age restriction. If L is mature enough to learn a proper technique of putting in her lenses. She can wear them. According to the postings lately and many in the past. It sounds like L is not your typical 7 year old.

Doesn't cease to call someone out does it? Same as always.

Angie said...

I called you an asshole, not because of the contact reference, but more because of the backhanded "compliment" you dealt out. Asshole.

Dirty Disher said...

Contacts will require a neurological consult, if she ever wants them...as an adult.

Adorable! Dayum, she's growing up fast and getting cuter every day. I realize the hair color isn't natural, but she looks nice with the strawberry blonde. Won't take long for her color to grow out. Hopefully her mom won't do that again.

Dirty Disher said...

It's grown out a lot and it's only the top layer. When I put it in a half pony tail, you can't see it. I can't wait until it's gone. Red hair is cool.

Dirty Disher said...

I'm trying to talk her into a layer cut. That would get rid of most of it.

bima as herself said...

She's a cutey patooty! All the hipsters wear glasses and they are cool. I wear glasses, but I'm only a little cool. She is growing up fast. I'm so glad you have each other.

Anonymous said...

Oh, she is SpE C ia L???

And doomed.

Wonder how many kids pick on her? And how many parents don't want their kids around her. I know you won't be truthful, but she just looks hard and off putting for a 7 year old.

Dirty Disher said...

I'm leaving that comment. I'm sorry now that I took off your sexual comment about her. Because......you will be revealed soon. ~Smiles sweetly~

BTW, she's reading star of the week and has gotten 100% on every spelling test this year. And I have to wait to pull the car out after school because she has so many friends who have to hug her goodbye at the end of the day.

A-Gran said...

You anonymous coward. You hide behind a yellow veil of anonymity and spout a bunch of shit about a child. What the fuck is wrong with you? Show your face and come talk to me you fucking pussy. Or are you only able to dish it out to children?

You're a punk. A fucking punk ass bitch.

COTD said...

DD, Lissa just gets more and more beautiful.
I love the look of glasses. Why would anyone just assume that glasses are in order? That's stupid.
I'm very sorry that you are dealing with trolls again.

COTD said...

I meant "contacts".... Why would anyone assume that contacts are in order?

iambriezy said...

She looks so proud of herself! All the girls are wearing feathers here too.

Fuck off troll. You're a cunt.

London said...

I hardly ever comment on your blog but I do read it every day! I just have to say Lissa is a real cutie! And yes, I can assure you "all the kids" (and adults too) are wearing feathers in their hair.

Angie said...

Briezy, I think you meant to say "thundercunt", didn't you?

iambriezy said...

Why yes, Angie. I stand corrected. My apologies, troll. You are a Thundercunt and I hope you get cancer.

Angie said...

And herpes.

And shingles.

A-Gran said...

And feline leukemia.

Boom.

Give me 10 minutes in a room with anyone who is cruel to kids or animals. DD and Lis rock and are a fab duo together. I love that she has so many friends. I love that she has artistic interest in her own personal style. C'mon Trolls .... 10 minutes in a room with you. I am Italian, an Aries and born in the Year of the Tiger. You'll bet your sorry ass you were ever born. Thank you.

Now back to the topic: We wore roach clips and feathers in our feathered shags with our mega bellbottoms, cork platforms and airbrushed rock band t shirts (a la Cherie Currie and Joan Jett.) Reading the words 'roach clip' made this California gal laugh.

Noelle said...

She looks adorable but I could have lived with out that fad coming back. It's about time for some corduroy gaucho pants isn't it?

Hey Mary my e-mail is noellefr@gmail.com

Heidi said...

Holy shit! I am laughing over here. I am sorry I wasn't on earlier but I was changing my sheets.

I saw some of the feather clips today and thought of when I used them for another reason..hehe

DD, I sent you an email.

Dirty Disher said...

Troll needs it's mouth washed out with some.........soap.

Debbie Harris said...

Hi DD: All the girls here in Elementary School, in Northern California, are wearing them...lol! My niece has five or six of them...she told me she is the "most fashionalble" person in her classroom...(I think I snorted when she told me that)...Anyhow...Lissa looks so damn happy! Good job!
Your friend...Debbie

OMG Pat - if you want to give her another kind of "hair thingie thrill", buy a box of those little bottles of food coloring in the market (they come yellow, blue, green and red in a box and you can mix 'em to make other colors) and put color "streaks" in her hair (it washes right out)! I use to think I was the hippest thing on the planet with those! She is just the most darling little girl and she is so lucky to have you!

Anonymous said...

And by the way, regarding the comment posted by Anon 3:10, let's just let this pathetic, miserable waste of space serve as a perfect example of what happens when a brother and sister have sex with one another and produce offspring.

You just can't fix STUPID, can ya!

OT...mary, mary...just wanted to tell you that I think you have a beautiful smile. It looks infectuous. I've been wanting to tell you but just never got around to it.

Soap.

She looks so cute! My 11 year old just got a permanent one put in last week. It was only ten bucks. I figured why not? She's a good girl. Lissa is right. All of the cool kids do wear them. That's what my kid told me too. LOL

Maureen said...

The roach clip reference made me laugh, still had the smile on my face until I got to anon's vile post. It blow's my mind that there are people out there who pick on innocent children. It's truly disgusting.

Anonymous said...

Pat, Lissa looks so beautiful and HAPPY.... I know all you've gone thru since the moment she was born and all I can say is YOU'VE DONE A MARVELOUS JOB... Eric must be cheering you on "you rock mom, you did a great job with Casey and me, now you are outdoing yourself with my daughter"....

Anonymous said...

Pat, that anon was me, Nadine, I can't post with my Google Acct, so I decided to try it this way... it workedddddddddddddd.....

Anonymous said...

Nadine here...
WTF ... who is this person who is spouting crap about Lissa???? Somehow I get the feeling that she is after your ass Pat and knows Lissa is your archilles heel....
Sounds like the crap they used to spout in parachat, remember???? Could it be a "leftover" parachatter????

mary_mary said...

Dear Bayou Jane,
Thank you so much for the kind words. That is so sweet of you to say. I try to smile often. I believe that "it's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice." Unless someone fucks with kids or animals; then I will rip that person's throat out. :))))

Dirty Disher said...

Nadine! So glad to see you. Hugs.

MaryMary, we all love your pic.

mary_mary said...

Thank you everyone for your kind words and big ol' welcome here. I love grit, brains, logic and sailor talk. It's 'all kinds of cool' to meet up with 'sharp cookies' here on this blog.
