Let sleeping dogs lie

I'd just like to say that a Dog's abilities to lay down and sleep anytime, anywhere is something to be envied. I never understood it and never met a dog that couldn't do it. I mean, if things get quiet, if they're the slightest bit bored..boom..they're down and out. How the fuck do they do that? How can I learn to do that?

Cats can do it too, but, they always seem to have one eye open. I don't think they really sleep. I think they just rest. But, dogs...man. Dogs can just conjure immediate shut eye, as many times a day or night as they feel like it. What is their secret??

  1. Maybe it has to do with fitting all their sleep time into such a short lifespan. That's the best answer I've got.

  2. It's a good one. Maybe I should try that. Just take little naps 24/7 until I croak.

  3. they are pretty much on the top of the food chain. How would attack a wolf pack? Nobody.

So they can afford to relax.

  4. Their secret? No bills, no mortgage.

Some humans can do it too and I've demanded lessons from one of them.
