I'm feelin' the Bern

In a statement issued yesterday, on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, Bernie Sanders called for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment.
“As president, and as someone who has a 100 percent pro-choice voting record in Congress, I will do everything that I can to protect and preserve a woman’s right to an abortion,” Sanders said. “Women must have full control over their reproductive health in order to have full control over their lives. We must rescind the Hyde Amendment and resist attempts by states to erect roadblocks to abortion.”

Go Bernie!

Oh Pat, you don't know how happy I am that you're feeling the Bern :) I've never seen so much enthusiasm for a candidate in my life. Get ready. There are millennials from all over the country traveling to Iowa for caucus day. I so wish I could go :( Go Bernie!

I might not feel the Bern, but I think the Hyde Amendment should be reversed as well.

Why are these people going to Iowa for caucus? If they aren't Iowans they can't caucus.

BTW Pat have you ever caucused? What's it like? Sounds like fun in a way, though I'd be left in a corner by myself, no doubt.

They are going to volunteer for the Sanders campaign. They will be driving people to caucus, canvassing before the caucus, and helping to count and watch for any sneaky shit going on. There are people who can't make it to Iowa who are sponsoring those able to go buy donating gas money, airplane tickets, bus tickets, and money for food and lodging. People are opening their homes to host those coming to Iowa. These young people even came up with an app for those who want to carpool to Iowa. It's a total movement. :)

Here is a video from 2008 inside an Iowa Dem caucus. From what I understand the republicans do it a little differently.

In believe that Sen. Sanders is so ensconced in his pseudo-socialism that he can't see the reality of what the problems affecting working class people really are. His focus on the European model of a socialist society is anathema to our capitalist driven and pro-entrepreneurial system. Yes, the Wall Street pigs have control over money hungry political class of elected officials in both parties that only care about re-elections and growing their influence through better positions in more influential commitees, and they depend on the deep pockets of these leeches to give them what they want in unregulated or friendly rules-of-the game for them to operate in. Bernie is right about that much. But what can he do?.
Both parties are culprits in the selling out of America; Dems for votes from illegals, and Republicans needing cheap labor from the same. Most Muslims will also refuse to assimilate because to them Sharia is the only law, and democracy and free will stands in contrast with their beliefs. Misogynist, racist and genocidal culture that presses women, gays, and anyone else who is of another religion.
I can completely understand what the anger is against Washington.

Hi Pat...long time. I hope all is well. I still think about "Army Mom"and her loss almost every day. Hi Bayou Jane!, hope your son is doing well.
