Joan Crawford had bad breath

According to the authors of Hollywood Babylon, the hottest celeb nasty gossip book ever penned..Marilyn Monroe had a short dalliance with Joan Crawford and then dumped her. Monroe told pal, Shelly Winters "She had bad breath,"and "Besides, she wanted to do things to me that no woman should do to another woman."
*
Juicy! Joan can't get a break lately..the Bette Davis rejected her story came out again recently and now Bette is being ass kicked from the grave as well. *Police believed Bette Davis killed her second husband, Arthur Farnsworth , by hitting him on the head and causing a hemorrhage that lead to his death two weeks later. But a grand jury - six men who confessed to being ardent fans - found her innocent.* Woah!
*
Other juicy tidbits..Johnny Depp is known in Hollywood as Donkey Dick. His career isn't the only thing that's large. James Dean showed a disconcerting interest in a 12-year-old boy in the early 1950s. Director Elia Kazan believed the tale: "I've known many actors who have been twisted up in their sex lives, but never anybody as sick and unhealthy as Dean was."
*
Elvis Presley had a gay old time with Nick Adams, who played Johnny Yuma in the hit TV series "The Rebel."
*
Lucille Ball launched herself into show business as a hooker, and her husband Desi Arnaz had a fling with Cesar Romero.
*
Cary Grant had an incestuous relationship with his stepson, Lance Reventlow.
*
Sir Winston Churchill got "musical" with actor and songwriter Ivor Novello.
*
Strange things happened to Judy Garlands body (this in the chapter on "Fan Worship and Necrophilia").
************

My, my, Hollywood today seems rather tame in comparison, doesn't it? Truth or money making fiction, I think they'll get some of my money. No doubt.

Woah, I can't wait to get a copy.

Maybe you could start a DD bookclub - and Oprah could finally retire ;)

There was a book which came out about 10 years ago which I heard proved that James Dean was gay. It was in bookstores sealed in a plastic bag. I badly wanted a copy but was young and couldn't afford it and can't remember what it was called. Does anyone have any hints?

Kinky.

I guess Joan was ahead of her time.

Lesbianism has been around forever, so Crawford wasn't setting any precedents. There are tons of rumours about the royal families of Germany and England of around a hundred years ago - they were all swapping gfs and bfs and it was one ongoing royal orgy according to some.

I don't believe that about Elvis either and don't really believe everything about Crawford. She couldn't have sex with everyone, since not everyone would want to have sex with HER, so making such a sweeping statement casts doubt on the whole idea, to me.

I forget what I read about James Dean in a bio of Natalie Woods but I don't think it was flattering of him. Hitting on 12 year olds is sick whatever your orientation.

anon 8:39 - I was only being facetious. Lesbianism/ bisexuality has been around since Adam and Eve and Eve.

Totally agree with you. Pedophilia is just down right sickening/ wrong/ will send ya ta hell.

The Elvis comment was false ! E.P., his own friends stated that Elvis had a fear of gay people trying to hit on him. He made it very clear he was straight as an arrow.
