48 hours Wal mart Status pre hurricane

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThis guy isn't too excited about low shelves because he's a prepper, but, it's too late for the average person to get extra batteries, bleach, and camping stuff now. This is serious and very scary. If it gets as bad as they think it will, there will be no new supplies coming in and can we count on FEMA? Really, can we? We all know how that went after Katrina.

Wow! My husband and I usually prep right before hurricane season starts, we cycle out old food and water, make sure everything's working. It's less stressful that way. I hope no one gets hurt during the storm. I was happy to find out we'd only get tropical storm conditions, but am saddened to see that others are going to get the full blown hurricane. :( It's hard being relieved when knowing that people have been hurt or are going to get the brunt of the storm. I am glad people are taking it seriously, it always scares me when people don't take this seriously - you never know what could happen.

it's amazing people live there and wait until right before to prepare....you'd think they'd always have a stockpile....

i know a blizzard is NOTHING like a hurricane but the same mentality is like there here in NE ohio....they announce an approaching blizzard and you go to walfart and everyone is there and there is NO water, no tp, no pre-packaged food, bread, etc....it's insane!!! and snow plows are out ASAP and we rarely lose power in the area, so the actions are bizarre.....

We DO lose power a lot. I have a small supply of things. I would love to be a true prepper. I'm not at this point. I'm learning though.

I have a supply, but am working on getting rid of a lot of crap I have stored so I can organize better. It's not worth as much if you can't get to it easily, and know where everything is to begin with.

I knew you did. You're probably the best prepped on here. Betcha.

I just got back from Wally World. Had to get cat food. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I hear in the New Orleans area a lot of people who did not have improved levees and are surrounded on three sides by water and were under mandatory evacuation, did not leave. Now they are getting out by boat. I feel sorry for their woebegone looking pets not the owners who should have left. Rescuers shouldn't be risking themselves, so hope they are super careful.

I have to get to my cupboards, maybe next year (realistically). Can't find a thing, but there are a lot of cans there. No room in freezer but also no food. It's full of ice packs for me. Rather walk than eat.
