Time to take a stand, I think. Brandy could be charged for felony manslaughter in the accident that took the life of 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihaj. The penalty includes a hefty fine and 1 year in jail. Brandy didn't directly hit the death car, instead it was her not stopping soon enough that triggered a pile up. Enough of this jail talk. Brandy has never been in trouble before and there were no drugs or booze involved. It was and accident. A bad one, but, an accident. It could happen to any of us. Brandy has a young daughter at home, what possible purpose could be served by giving her a year in jail? How come ParAss Hilton and the druggie brat pack get slapped on the wrist for driving drunk and everyone is whooping for Brandy to do jail time?? The accident looked frighteningly brutal. Pics here.

It's cause she's black, yo. The fine is $1,000 max btw. And she was going 65 mph when she hit the first car. I mean we all make mistakes but holy geez. I think she should get some form of punishment. She's lucky they aren't calling that gross negligence because I certainly would.

I feel for her, this is not fair. they are giving her jailtime cause she ain't showing her goods, she keeps them well covered. She is going to jail cause she's not a ho. >rolleyes<
I almost hit a husky dog this afternoon, I was driving 65mph on us101, and the stupid dog decided he wanted to cross the highway, he went from the shoulder to the median then wanted to come back to the shoulder but he decided to stand in the middle of the hiway for a few seconds. I am thankful I spotted him from about 50 feet, more or less, cause I had to slam the brakes cause he decided to stand there. I am also thankful there were no cars behind me when I hit the brakes, otherwise it was either my life or the dog's.
I'm sure he's a flat doggy by now, but not by me.
Glad to hear you're okay, but, damn people who don't take care of thier dogs. Poor thing.
It seems like all the rich and famous get off for their crimes. I was listening to what other famous people had caused accidents resulting in death, sometimes more than one death, and I was astounded and the slap on the wrist some of them got. It's called vehicular manslaughter. A life is gone! It was an accident, yes I know this, but if the drivers had been paying better attention, this wouldn't have happened. I agree she doesn't need jail time, save that for the friggin drunks who kill people...their asses need to go away for a long time, but I can almost bet Brandy was on the cell phone or tuning the radio or something, all the rest of the traffic had slowed down, except for her, so she wasn't paying attention. It's a tragedy any way you look at it. I'm sure she feels awful, but if people keep getting off with a paltry fine for lives lost, this will only get worse. Race has nothing to do with it.
A couple of key factors in this case have not yet been released to the public. Such as, was she talking on her cell phone? Was she playing with the stereo? Why was she distracted? Like others have pointed out, the traffic is always stopped or moving slowly on this stretch of highway. And someone was killed, that's the important factor. Until I find out the whole story, I will remain undecided on the jail time issue. Knowing what I do, I believe she should have to pay restitution, do community service, and take some driving classes. As for the skankbot twins, those two should have been in jail a long time ago for a multitude of things. Or at least in rehab for drugs or an eating disorder clinic. Oh yeah...one of them did go to a clinic...for 2 days! I'm sure she's cured....
