Le pretty pretties
source
Jean Paul Gaultier's creations for Paris fashion week were inspired by the mother of Jesus, but had a slighty naughty aspect. Like hot wimples and cleavage and corsets worn by models with teardrops painted on thier faces. I found it all very hot, artsy, and interesting. I wonder who'll be the first to wear them and how they'll be toned down for buyers?
And there is Dita Von Teese wearing a classy goth inspired number also by Jean Paul Gaultier. TY to crabbie for finding that pic of our fav Dita Diva.
I love haute couture..you know why? Because it is art and it is snotty. I love figuring out who gets to wear it, because having enough money to buy it, does not qualify you. Uhhh huu, it's much more complicated than that. You must be the right person to own it or you simply aren't allowed to buy it. You have to wait until it is tamed down a bit and sold to you by rich buyers on Rodeo Drive and such places, where it is then simply couture (sans Haute.) Boo hoo. There is so much to the fashion industry. Like, does Ashley Olsen really understand what she has with a 40 grand Hermes bag? I think she does, that's why she's allowed to own one. Otherwise she'd be on a 5 year waiting list and by the time she got it, it would be out of style. That's how the "artists" work. And that's why Lindsay Blohan carries Muimui and Paris Hilton carries whatever free B-list swag she can score. I love elitists. Raging snotty consumerism makes me happy.
