A Christmas Cottage to be a movie
source
How does a painting of a cottage wind up on a cleb blog? A bad painting at that? Well, Lionsgate films thinks the world just can't get enough of hokey ass Thomas Kinkade, the guy who seriously calls himself "the painter of light" and they're making a movie based on this painting. The Christmas Cottage. Kinkade's crap has always screamed "sofa sized" to me. You know, that shit they sell in starving artist sales and promise you it will fit your decor. And I use the word artist lightly here. This has to be the most pathetic thing I've heard all month.
Someone will now mold this out of resin, stick a lightbulb in it and sell it on QVC with the rest of his crap. Is this how art and cinema is born? Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

I particularly like that painting. I guess different tastes....
It obviously takes some kind of skill to paint something this detailed and accurate but man I've always thougth Kincaid was some of the cheesiest crap ever made. What a waste of what is apparantly a modicum of talent.
LMAO..you're on a roll tonight amy.
as soon as I saw the picture, I knew what the post would be about lol.
I am with anon - I like his painting and although cheesey, I guess I like nature and he paints a lot of it.
