Kate Beckinslut really should just shut her mouth and look pretty. Saying stupid shit in public is not exactly endearing...

Her statement wasn't stupid at all - she is partly right. Both family and the media can claim their share of the responsibility, but the family has the greater responsibility. Hands down.
Anorexia can start as a need to have control over something. Some people who have anorexia started because food intake was something they could control in their lives when everything else is out of control. Sure some of what Kate said can be right, but she can't rule our society and its views. We could blame peer pressure to. Kids wanting to be skinny like other kids and are willing to sacrifice their health to do it.
No matter what the cause, anorexia is a scary thing. We can't just place blame on one aspect. She should do some studying before giving her general opinion.
