Valerie (seen here with her son Wolfie), who's now 47, is vowing to lose 30 pound by September and do it in public, like Kirstie Alley did. Going public with her goal "is the motivation I need," Bertinelli says. "I need to do this in front of millions of people so I can't mess up."
And, she adds: "It is freeing because I can say it first: I know what you're thinking - I'm fat."
Actually, I wasn't thinking that at all. I think she looks normal and pretty cute at 47 and without her goofy toothless rocker ex hubby, Eddie Van Halen. I hear she has a new man and a new life. Good luck to her on the weight loss, if it's what she wants for herself, but, I don't see anything wrong with being a size 14.

i think it's more about trying to restart her acting career....if she does this publicly she might get offered some roles...
I don't think she is fat either, but if you don't feel good about yourself, you should do something about it. Good for her. I'd love it if her acting career got a boost from this.
I used to love her in 'that show that I can't remember the name of that was on ages ago' and I was jealous when she married Eddie. :)Yikes! I am showing my age. He definitely didn't age well though - he used to be so cute.

wolfie looks like hes going thru a ackward teen stage, he's kind of pudgey. Valerie has always battled her weight her body is pre-disposed to be a certain way. I don't think Valerie is looking bad. she's a middleage woman live with it Val.
Yeah, I am also sick of the fact that Size 14 is apparently considered obese in Hollywood. It's a perfectly normal size. Nicole Ritchie is 100 times freakier than Valerie, and nobody is waiting for her to eat her way to normal weight on television. That said, I agree with the comment that if Valerie doesn't feel good about herself...
What is really wierd is dieting to 107 pounds, and then having 38D breast implants added. Television if full of women who look like that.
I think she has always looked cute and this picture just continues me to say that.
I think if she was to loose 30 pounds, she would be pretty skinny - probably a bit too skinny for her body - but what do I know lol

Wolfie has always been a big boy, now he seems to be growing into his build and is more, what I'd call "husky." I think he's a handsome kid and he's been playing in his dads band too.
so i guess Fat Val is going to take to losing weight "one day at a time." but still, no one will replace my favorite fat actress- Kirstie Alley. i was there for the good times and the bad. i loved all the bagging on alley, and there doesn't seem to be as much hype regarding Fat Val. i work at NBC and we were all about Triumph the Comic Dog's (of Conan O'Brien show fame) trash talking of Alley. you should all check it out @ http://video.dotcomedy.com/player/?=85234 ; it will bring you back to the good times (not to mention give you a good chuckle). check it out, Fat Val has got nothing on Alley.

She was nice a large and natural pair of breasts, which as I man I dig much more than some freak like Pamela Anderson Lee Rock, who seems to be doing a different skeezer rock star every week.
