Paris Hilton..what really happened?

Paris is, as we all know, back in jail. I am not an investigative reporter, I'm not even a news source, I'm just some big mouthed chick with a blog, but, I really wanted to find as much REAL info as I could to try and straighten this mess out in my own head. Here are the facts involving her arrest.

September 7, '06, Paris Hilton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. She failed a field sobriety test, the DUI charge would be a misdemeanor. Hilton was released on her own recognizance with a court date pending. They administered a field sobriety test, and Paris blew a .08. In California, driving with a .08 blood alcohol level is the minimum level for DUI.

Jan 22, 2007 , Paris Hilton was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from the September arrest.
Hilton, who was not in court and entered the plea through her attorneys, was also fined $390 and ordered to attend an alcohol-education program (she went to that program) by a Los Angeles judge. In California a no contest plea is the legal equivalent of pleading guilty.

Feb 28, 07 Deputies say Paris was speeding down Sunset Blvd. without headlights. She was pulled over and deputies discovered she was driving with a suspended license...Paris was cited and her 2007 Blue Bentley was impounded." THIS was the probation violation.

May 4, 2007 Paris goes to court for the probation violation and recieves 45 days in county jail starting June 5th.
*******************************************************************

Okay, caught up so far..we all knowParis turned herself in early and did an "official" five days in Lynwood County jail before her release to "house arrest." We also know that the jugde cut the sentance from 45 days to 23 days. Some posters thought she got caught twice driving drunk, but, that's not true. It was once and it was her first offence. One poster thought she violated her probation twice..I can find no evidence of that. Even the Smoking Gun didn't have that and if they don't, I don't know who would.

This is Sheriff Baca, who let her go to house arrest due to an undisclosed medical condition. It was later deemed "mental," that's all we know for sure about that. But, Baca is known to have preiously recieved a campaign contribution from Barron Hilton (Paris's Grandpa) in the legally acceptable amount of $1,000 dollars. Baca is also the Sheriff who told the media that Mel Gibsons arrest for DUI went without incident and we later learned that was far from true.

This is LA City Attorney, John "Rocky" Delgadillo who was one of the first to point out that Sheriff Bacca was taking the law into his own hands by releasing Paris without a judges order. HE'S the one who filed the motion to have the judge send Paris back to jail.

Judge Michael T. Sauer, who was the original judge in the case and was also the judge yesterday. Judge Sauer did NOT tell Paris to "get her ass to court" (as was reported by some sources,) instead it was a power play between Judge Sauer who is, after all, a judge, and Sheriff Baca who claimed HE had the only jurisdiction over Paris Hilton as she was a prisoner in his jail district. That's why she was late to court yesterday. Baca refused to send a car assuming he had the right to say if Hilton had to be there in person, the judge was mad as hell, and Paris was caught in the middle of it.

************************************************************

The power conflict between Sheriff Baca and Judge Sauer became a firestorm that raged out of control. Delgadillo was the gas on the fire. Now throw in Paris's lawyer, her psychiatrist, the jail's medical staff, her rich parents and grandparents and you sort of get a picture of what really happened. Or what probably happened, because this part's just my opinion which isn't worth a piss fight in hell. Whatever happend, who ever was paid off, Paris couldn't have done it..she was in freekin' jail crying her eyes out. Don't tell me she did..it was her family and I would have done the same thing if I was as rich as they are. But, she's the one back in jail and now doing her original 45 days minus five already served. I've never known anyone who did what she did and got 45 days on a first offense to begin with, but, that's beside the point. Now she has to do 40 more days..why should she have to be punished for something that was out of her hands? She didn't let herself out of jail. All of the city "officals" are shameful and she's being used as some kind of toy by them. Everyone's screaming she should be treated like a regular person, but, this isn't done to regular people. Who do you know that goes from jail to house arrest then back to jail with the previous sentance with no violation taking place? This isn't about justice anymore, it's about Hollywood. Baca is a rebel who knows the stars...how sexy. The judge is a hero for the "regular" people for showing Baca his place and slamming a heiress with the hammer of justice. Delgadillo is a combination movie star/mobster figure who wins the hearts of the poor and downtrodden who wish they were Paris Hilton and are pissed because the drive used Pintos and work in a cubicle. Paris Hilton is the rich bitch who gets what she deserves in the eyes of the public who can't see the big picture.

Go ahead and tell me I'm full of shit and you're all happy about Paris in jail. I'm not here to mimic the popular opinion. I'll listen to yours though. But, I still think Paris got reamed by a bunch of fame seeking power hungry assholes. It's 40 days..she'll live, but, I wouldn't want to be her.

Now, I'm going to work, but, I'll be back later to talk about important things, like how shitty Posh is dressing lately and how cruddy Britneys hair extensions look.

true she wasn't caught driving drunk twice, only once, but she WAS caught driving TWICE on a suspended license. Thats 2 probation violations and 3 in total.

She is only serving 18 more days, she doesn't have to fullfill the entire 45 days. Who the hell gets ouf of jail for being emotionally distraught? If she needed medication, give it to her, she can swallow it just as well in jail as she can someplace else.

If this was you or I convicted of a DUI and 2 probation violations we'd be serving more then 45 days for starters, even if we lucked out at got house arrest because there had never been any other legal altercations.

Her attitude and lack of maturity in not showing up for and then on time for court procedings is what guaranteed her jail time after the 2nd violation. Her publicist told her she could drive come on shes not that stupid.

Yes its unfair she was released and then had to go back, i'm sure she made plenty of phone calls and had a good laugh the first few hours she was home making house party arrangments.

But it's the Sherrif's fault, he had no right to override a judges sentencing when it stated she was not to get work furlows, house arrests etc.

She might have gotten caught up between alot of political backscratching and b.s but she's no innocent nor undeserving of her sentence.

She drove drunk and could have killed someone. Period. She laughed everything else off until she was sentenced to jail time and doesn't even realize how lucky she is to be getting off this easy.

All she had to do was not drive for 36 months. It's not like she couldn't afford taxi's of a personal driver. She did this to herself.

Baca gets me kinda hot.

I agree..she could have killed someone..and I wouldn't want that "someone" to be a child or someone we loved. Hopefully she will learn that being rich doesn't mean you can't be touched.

Oh and it was Bacca who reduced the sentance back to 23 days..see what I mean? This is just crazy. That judge is gonna kick ass again.

i think bacca is trying to go cowboy and the judge is gonna hand him a noose. the noose isnt for pearass. i hope a fistfight ensues.

In all actuality, Paris violated more than twice, but was simply cited and let go. She didn't get away with the last time because she was speeding and driving without her headlights on. In fact she was probably pulled over because driving without your headlights on is a sign of driving while impaired.
She also failed to sign up for the Alcohol Education Classes within the 21 day time frame. She had to be ordered by the court to do so. That is also a violation of terms of probation. I cannot find any evidence that she actually attended the classes; this is the first place I have read it.
If the judge were really trying to make an example of her, he would have given her the full 90 days, which is the maximum sentence she could have received.
She also showed complete disregard for the law by showing up late for her court appearance. She could have been held in contempt of court. She was not.
In the end, I think there were probably plans in motion before she even entered jail, and I would not be surprised if she were aware of them. She turned herself in quite calmly and willingly.
And it is completely her fault. She is a 26 and a half year old woman; she is not a child, or even a teenager. She is responsible for her actions, not the judge, not the media, and at her age, not even her parents.
And personally, I don't care about "popular opinion" (I like Pete Doherty...he admits he's a complete failure, yet continues trying... So sue me...). I can look at a situation and draw my own conclusions. I can't help if the woman was raised in an alter reality where bad things don't happen to rich people, thus she never developed any coping skills. She should stop blaming everyone else and just own up to her poor behaviour; people may actually gain a little respect for her if she did. Until that day comes, I have nothing else to say about this complete waste of potential.

Maybe Martha can write her a letter and teach her how to deal with an unfair justtice system with at least a little fucking dignity.

Paris did bad. Paris was punished. Everyday in our courtrooms peopele are given sentences based up not only the crime they committed but also by their attitude and remorse. She never showed remorse - she continued to have an "I'm Paris Hilton" attitude.

If her situation happened to me and I behaved like her you don't think a judge would have sent me to jail too?

I'm with you DD.

Courts in California must be really tough, because no one here gets sentences like that for those offenses!

Dirty Disher said...

I'm not saying she shouldn't be punished..DUI's are no joke, I'm just saying the behavior of those in charge is disgusting and should be looked into and fixed.

CNN is reporting that she was caught twice driving w/ a suspended license. First time on 1/15/07, she got a written warning which they found in her glove compartment when she was pulled over again on 1/22/07. The warning was one of the reasons her defense that she didn't know her license was suspended was unbelievable.

She did get caught driving twice with the suspended lisence.

Also durng her first probation appearance, the judge ordered her to complete the alcohol program. She didnt even sign up for it. Thats one of the reasons the judge made his sentence like that.

I was the poster who said she violated twice. She was pulled over and given a warning, in writing, that she was driving on a suspended license 1 week before she was formally ticketed for same. The citation was in her glove box when she was telling the 2nd officer that she didn't know she was driving on a suspended license, that her "people" take care of reading her material for her and didn't tell her. The judge took that 1st stop in consideration when he sentenced her.
Check it out, DD

I can't get that link, but, I belive you guys. It proves she's a dumbass. We all knew that. Nothing explains why the judge and the sheriff are allowed to play like they did. They're all obnoxious and should be fired.

hmmm, soldiers are dying in Iraq and aghgan(sp). In kansas city a young girl was kidnapped and murdered. Children here and world wide are starving, being abused and neglected. But we(yes I am just as bad) spend how much time worrying that a little prima donna isnt getting fair treatment. She did the crime now she gets to do the time. She can just call it simple life III behind the iron bars! Stupid us.

i'll say this much...a couple of yrs ago my brother got busted at a party for possession of pot..and for consumption of alcohol by a minor..the judge gave him a choice..serve 30 days in jail..or go on probation for 3 yrs..and pay like 450$ in fines..and it was his first offense..of course he took the probation and the fines..but he wasnt driving..he wasnt putting ppls lives at risk..so i dont think 45 days is too much to serve for a DUI...however i do think its rather fucked up they let her go..and then turned around and said oooops no come back.

Thinking of you Paris. Keep your head up. It's class warfare at its worst. Everyone is jealous of you because you're beautiful and rich. We love you, and can't wait until you're released. Look forward to seeing more of your beauty!

For some reason I like this little blog. I like the additude of the person behind it for the most part. She seems fairly grounded.
I would enjoy having a cup of coffee with the Dirty Disher at some point and just shoot the breeze. She seems fun. Nothing more then that...I am a happily married Dood.

However, I disagree with her "support" for this twit Paris. Paris is getting unfair treatment...probably. Life just isn't fair at times. If this is her worst case of unfairness then she is way above the pack. Paris is paying for so many Celebrity's (recent ones) "sins". (not to mention HER own past sins) Is that fair? Not really...kinda sucks actually. It is re-setting the balance. Paris has said some pretty mean things that have been on tape or in print. She is also paying for that. Fair? Nope...but Justice! Just like it is not fair that she has received all the matierial things in life when others stuggle. That is not fair either. So what...it is LIFE. It happens. Now IF Paris had been a humanitarian and a giving soul...the public out cry would be totally different.

I see this as a Public Square punishment like in the old days. We do not put them in stocks anymore and throw veggies and garbage at them. This is the Justice system giving us our pound of flesh for all of the Celebrity B.S. actions and more so for all of the political crimes that have gone unchecked. I also do not believe these lastest words of Paris Hilton in the press are actually HER words. Someone wrote these for her to say. Someone is playing the spin game to change public opinion. See? See what SHE has done to HERSELF? She has flipped off the rest of the world so much that now we are skeptical of anything geniune coming from her.

It also goes to show what we say/believe in life has power. Paris's crude/selfish/mean/etc statments in the past are now coming back home to roost. Fair? Not one bit. Justice is Served!

FIRST OF ALL , FIND OUT WHY SHE WAS SUSPENDED FROM DRIVING, USUALLY YOU DONT GET SUSPENDED UNLESS YOU REFUSE TO TAKE FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS, OR YOU DONT FOLLOW COURT INSTRUCTIONS. THIS WAS HER BIG PROBLEM, WHEN A JUDGE FINDS YOU GUILTY FOR DWI , TERMS ARE PUT UPON YOU AND YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE OR YOUR LISCENSE BEING SUSPENDED IS NEXT(UNLESS AS MENTIONED ABOVE YOU REFUSE FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS AND THEN YOU ARE SUSPENDED FROM THE DATE OF THE STOP. IF YOU GET PULLED OVER WHILE DRIVING WITH A SUPENDED LISCENSE YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE REGARDLESS IF YOU ARE THE POPE OR PARIS HILTON, JUDGES EVERYWHERE TAKE THIS PERSONALLY AND ASSUME YOU AR FLAUNTING THE LAW AND USUALLY THROW YOU IN JAIL. THIS IS WHEN ALL HER TROUBLE STARTED. HER CLAIM THAT HER PUBLICIST GAVE HER THE WRONG INFORMATION IS USELESS EVEN IF IT WAS TRUE, YOU ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BEING CHARGED WITH , YOU AND YOU ALONE, COURTS DO NOT GIVE LEEWAY REGARDING "THIRD PARTY" MISINFORMATION, THERE IS AN OLD SAYING, "IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE",
