In the twenties Coco Chanel had women out of the cursed corsets and into a more comfy boxy look. Suits for women! Oh my! She was scandelous and women loved her style. In the fifties she gave them the "little black dress" and later bell bottoms. Her pink box suit with the black piping was worn by everyone from Jackie Kennedy to Marge Simpson.
Coco was born in 1883 and died in 1971...she was raised in a French orphanage where she taught herself to sew. Now the company has Karl Lagerfeld. Hmm, I can still find vintage Chanel once in awhile and I much prefer it to the Lagerfeld hoo ha. I'll stick with Coco and he can go dress Blohan and Courtney Love.

Coco was a kept whore and a nazi sympathizer during WW2.
Your momma is right.
Coco was not only a 'symphatizer' - she was a nazi.
I am not sure what is worse. Coco the Nazi. Or Coco the Lagerfeld-enabler.
Lagerfeld - the man who tries to destroy the femal form.
