Confessions of a slob
What can I tell you? The truth. Watching episodes of "How clean is your house" have grossed me out to the point that I might become a clean freak. Oh, my place isn't so filthy that you gag when you walk in, in fact, anyone who visits always comments on how cute and cozy it is. They have no idea the horrors that lurk in the places I don't see. I'm what you call a filth hider. If you can't see it, it doesn't exist..right?
Yeah, unfortunatly, it does. And now it's August and the crickets have moved in. I HATE CRICKETS. I have a mortal fear of the dirty bastards that goes beyond reason. I've been baiting them with the bathroom light. The tiles in there are white and I can see them to beat them to death with my broom. They like light. Crabbie was nice enough to look up some info on the bastards for me because my phobia is so out of control I can't even look at a photo of them. I admit to you I look like a crazy woman chasing the horrors with my poor broom which is now falling apart.
Finally after having one jump in my face while I was reading the kid a story book and flipping out completly..I've had enough. It's war. I have an Orkin man who comes once a month, but, his stuff doesn't faze them. I have a friend who owns a shop on the main square and I found out all the merchants use something special. She was kind enough to loan me the murderous spray and I'm after them now. The sick part is..first I have to clean. Really clean, not my half assed you don't see it cleaning.
Oh, Gawd, have you looked under your couch lately? I hadn't. Not for a couple of years. I know that's bad, but, it's freekin' heavy and how bad can it be? Fairly bad. Lost toys, lost jewelry, a stray sock, cobwebs...and all of it covered in dust. The ladies on "How clean is your house" have taught me what lurks in dust and cobwebs. Bacteria and dust mites that can and will harm you. They thrive in that filth. EWWWWWWWWW!
So..sorry if I've been lazy in posting, but, I should be done today and cricket free. So far the kitchens done..OMG I even moved the fridge and stove. You don't want to know what that looked like. And the living room is spotless. I dare you to find a spec of ick there. Now on to the bedrooms, hall and closets. Okay, I shared my disgustingness with you. Now tell me..are you a clean freak or a slob like me?
I promise this is the last personal post until Halloween. I got so excited by the sparkly cleaness I even took a couple of pics, but, I won't bore you with them.

Hanging pictures of Perez everywhere didn't chase the crickets off?
Personally, I like the personal posts...I'm a gossip whore...it doesnt' matter whose gossip I'm reading - a star's or DD's - it's all the same to me!
Having crickets inthe house is suposed to be a sign of good lick!
Thats supposed to be GOOD LUCK>>>LAMO
i like the personal posts too!!!
But a little bit of dirt is good for the kids! Trains the immune system and makes allergies less likely. Plus too much cleaners and disinfectants can damage the livers of children.
Besides - what is so dangerous about dust mites? They look scary under a high end microscope and printouts of their pictures might scare grandmas to death.. but what else?
The Alli-pervert
Oh, geez. Dust mites, besides leaving poo and pee everywhere, are a major cause of allergy symptoms. You will breath a lot better if you keep their numbers down. Dust and dust mites live in filth that breeds bacteria which can really hurt asthma sufferers. That stuff can cause lung infections and skin rashes and worse, even in healthy people. As for crickets..lucky?? Oh no. Crickets are nothing more than jumping seasonal cockroaches. They feed on garbage and spread disease and they will cut your fabrics to pieces. They will crawl on you at night and bite too.
The bastards are dying and silent now. And I feel a peace I haven't felt since summer began. BTW, the spray is harmless to humans. I checked.
I hate crickets too. I think they are the most disgusting critters on earth, and I don't care if people tell me they eat grass only. They stink like a skunk when you squash them death. They make annoying noises all night long if they get to your bedroom, and won't let you sleep at night, chances are you never find them. They eat your natural fiber clothes, and leave turd trails. And they stink when dead. Back in my home country they come to the city with the first rain of the season. It's a plague, and they like to hang out by the street lights.
One time we had a season so bad they were covering up walls, (and I'm talking big city downtown!) and you could see dead ones that had been walked over. They find creases and crevises and crawl into your house/apartment. It was so bad that my grandma and I had to boil pot after pot of water to get rid of them from her patio and the outside walls of her house. Talk about cricket soup. Eww. Did I mention they stink? Oh yeah, and they stink when they die.
Ukkkkkkkkk. Just gross. and they don't eat grass. Omnivorios shiny black disgusting filthy evil LOUD pests.
It's funny what people hate and don't hate. Crickets generally don't bother me at all, except when they get in my baseboards and CREEK CREEK all night long. Roaches on the other hand, they turn me into a quivering mass of stereotypical uberestrogen screechy girliness. Ooh and don't get me started on grasshoppers. Buggy eyed bastards can all rot in hell.
I hate them all. Demonic creepy things.
dirty disher, i like your site so im going to do you a solid, I hate killing creatures for no reason other than "i dont like them", so check out these web sites , this stuff works, my friend uses them religeously.

you owe me one !!!!
I have never had crickets in my house. Around here (in Canada) we have ticks and I think I'd rather have crickets to be honest.
My house is clean clean. I'm not a freak about it but I like keeping things clean. I put things back where I find them and tidy up as I make a mess. When I cook I clean up as I go along.
I'm not obsessed with it..but like a clean house. A lot of people drop over to my place and sometimes not announced..so I'm prepared :)
