William Shatner is upset that the new Star Trek movie will feature Mr. Spock (Lenord Nimoy) but, no Captain Kirk. He thinks it's a bad business decision on the part of producers. I have to agree. I'm an admitted nerd and Trekie, so I'd be glad to argue with you over who's the best Captain of the Enterprise (it's not Kirk)..but, Shatner has redeemed himself with Boston Legal. The dude is a hoot. So a Trek with Spock and no Kirk seems...well, not right. The producers can stick a Tribble in their bums.

Janeway is my favourite but that's Voyager. I can't decide between Jean-Luc or Archer, i'm leaning more toward Archer but you gotta lover Jean-Luc especially his voice.
Love Picard, but Shatner is still the man! With all the cheesy effects, bad acting, he still carried the original star trek. Plus without him we wouldnt have Picard! Kudos to Kirk!
There will never be another Shatner but without his character in the new Star Trek just doesn't seem even worth watching. I wonder why they decided to go that route?
I like all the Star Trek and I enjoy watching today SG-1 Atlantis and the old SG-1 Stargate series.
I don't know some classic are that because of characters and Captain Kirk is one of them in my eyes.

I just found out that the mask Michael Myers wears in the Halloween movies is actually Shatners Star Trek face, anyone else ever hear this?

Theres no real reason they cant have old Kirk stop by on this new Trek it is after all scfi and we all know in scfi you never really die!
Well Nimoy is old too so they cant say it's because Kirk is too old! I don't know, I loved Picard, he was class, Kirk was a gun slinger. They do need to have him in the flick, just for humor & for us original fans! I mean he might not be around for the next one! They should use him, even if just a little.

My husband said something about the mask and William Shatner too, I have no idea what the hell he's talking about though, because he didnt even wear a mask on Star Trek right? He read something about it but I didnt pay attention to what he was saying, I'll have to ask him in the morning :D
The mask used by Michael Myers in the original'Halloween' was a Captain Kirk's mask painted white.
