Banksy's at it again

My favorite guerrilla artist, Banksy, is back with a new show at the Vanina Holasek Gallery on W 27th Street, on December 2. NYC! Yeah..love him. I get the shopping carts in Monet's water lily garden, I only hope the speakers are playing Dylans "The times, they are a changin'." But, I don't quite get the significance of the Kate Moss one. Isn't Kate as relevant as anyone Andy painted?
Feel free to explain that to me, I'm sure someone here has a theory.

Maybe its some sort of slight comparison to Marilyn Monroe. The pretty girl, people look up to, she seems to have it all, then BAM! She does coke, and you find out about who they really did. I dont think Kate Moss could ever be as good as Marilyn, but perhaps the artist is making a modern day statement with her. I dont know. Just a thought.

"She does coke, and you find out about who they really did."

I saw that after I posted. It should say "who they really ARE".
My bad...

Oh I love that Monet one. Hilarious. He's great. Have you seen the Pulp Fiction with bananans one?

I like both.

Like Kate or not, she is still an "icon". If she dies soon, she may become as influential a legend as Marilyn is.

i think perhaps he was going more for liz taylor as the inspiration...kate has been going thru men and has a shaky love life---same as liz w/o all the marriages....kate has had drug problems--same as liz....but i think he was going more for liz than monroe....

oh and kate is pretty independent, just like liz...monroe was TOO dependent...

Marilyn's hair & Kates face. Doesn't do it for me. Kate is just a skank/druggy/co-dependant to me. I may be the only one who feels that way. She's needs a f'g orthodontist thats for certain. I don't get her appeal, never did. She's the original waif...whoo ppee!! But be sure to not show anybody the teeth, OK? I'm sure she was always told not to smile.
