Another Hollywood divorce..this one makes me sad

I have always loved Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn, even when he was married to Madonna and acting the tough punk part..he was always cool. And she is such a talented actress and beautiful in that natural not implanted and tucked way. The two are parting ways after 11 years and two kids. Sad.

I'm with ya, DD. I always thought this one would be one of those rare Hollywood marriages that would last. :(

I guess she got tired of his ego. I agree that Sean is a very talented actor; but pushing Dennis Kucinich for President plain Hollywood.

I was never a fan of his, but SHE is ThePersonIWouldMostLikeToLookLike....seems down-to-earth, too.

Friend of Dennis Hopper & named his son Hopper after him. Very cool dad! I like them too & they seemed to stay outta the crossfire. He had some substance/alcohol abuse issues at one time, maybe thats come back to haunt them? I hate Madonna & never could figure out WTF he was thinking! Glad that was over fast!

Actually theyve been together since late '89,just after his divorce from Madge & moved in together in '90 they married in '96.

It's just sad when any couple flushes 17 plus years, thats 2 lifetimes by hollywood standards.

I like 'em too, but he seems like he might be a handful in the "moody department." She probably was the best thing that ever happened to him as a calm, centering influence. I recall they were on the skids in the 90s but worked it out. Oh well, throw their marriage on the 60% of others that bite the dust. Why are we ever surprised?

Sad to see it as well DD. I like them both and agree with the comments you made on them.

Excellent guesses all, but the sorry fact is that Robin simply reached the end of her tether waiting around at home with the children whilst Sean partied-it-up and pursued his political and social 'causes' around the world with his bigshot buddies.

And, of course... there's the not-so-insignificant fact that Sean's a raging philanderer. But then, Robin knew that when she married him.
