How was YOUR Christmas??

We has a nice one, I guess. It was hard to get a pic of Lissa smiling because by this time she was burnt out. She'd had a mountain of gifts at her moms, plus here, and between all the grammas, great grammas, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc..well, she just got way too much stuff. She stole a present from her mom (in the background there) and claimed it even though I'd bought her a pretty nice kids makeup kit. She wore a ton of lip gloss and played in the boxes. Typical.
*
That's my moms house. I had to blur the background because mom lived through the great depression and hasn't thrown anything out since 1939. I don't think she's dusted since then either. I am not kidding. She recycles gift wrap and we have raggedy bows on our presents that date back to the 60's. Most of the time she gives gifts in the plastic store bags because "they're still good." I should do a post on that place, ya'll can make fun of it all you want..I don't live there anymore. Once she hired someone to clean the dining room and they found an upright piano. I have pics if you don't believe how crazy it is. Lis was most excited because her beloved daddy made it home from Hollywood and she can hardly leave his side. "Dear son, please describe the hot Lakers girl who wants your body again. Mommy just loves that story." The shits of it is...he's probably not lying.
*
How was your Christmas? Oh, we had hamburgers for dinner..if you think that's weird then you don't know my mom. They were pretty good though..for once.

I took ten sleeping pills on the 23rd and woke up this morning. It's my Christmas tradition.

I happen to know you don't take drugs and you probably went to your sisters and got fancy new gay clothes and a great dinner. Liar pants. I hope you had a good one.

Christmas Eve Dak kept asking if Santa was here, he was worried considering I told him that I wasn't sure if Santa would be doing a drop off or a pick up. All but the baby ended up with some kind of crap, I got a cough with Laringitis, my ex got the flu and poor little Koda received loads of presents along with an ear-ache and upset tummy.

I started drinking warm wasail with rum at 1pm, had 8 too many cups of it LOL! Mother in law and I prepared dinner, she ordered a crown roast of pork, which I seasoned and baked, she made deviled brussel sprouts and stuffing and glazed apples and kumquats, I made key lime pie and caramel custard for dessert.

My hubby got me a nice Panasonic Lumix digital camera, takes kickass pictures, and he also got me a frequency scanner for my car. Mother in law got me a creme brulee set.

We had dinner at around 6pm, just had a great time. The best part, we had a White Christmas there for five minutes! It snowed here in Olympia, and it stuck around until it started raining. It made my day!

potato salad + bockwurst on the 24th. Pretty quiet day. A little bit of snow,

goose + red cabbage + dumblings on the 25th - lunch. Two hours later baked apples with vanilla. Smoked eel, smoked trout, 5 types of cheese, 6 types of sausages, 4 types of bread, pickeled gherkins, tomatoes in the evening. Some 'Schnaps' to survive it. A little bit stressfull. My sisters succeded in making the other one cry. But most of the time very pleasant. Typical german.

went to a chinese buffay (buffet for those of you who must say it right) and then went to look at xmas lights...

Your Mom's a pack rat? We all have one of those in the family. My husbands g'ma used to save all those twist ties from bread because she just knew there was a use for those things! You name it she saved it! Jillions of 'em. Not just a few! It is their age. But I finally got my husband broke of bringing home peoples discarded sh** he'd see in front of their houses! He's a master pack-rat but I am breaking him & nothing is allowed in my house! It's an inherited trait. & No, it's not fun to dust a house with 50 million twist ties laying around. believe me I know 'cuz I used to attempt to clean her old house!!

The correct spelling of that word is "Barfay"!!

I wish I'dve taken 10 sleeping pills. I got sick with the worst cold imaginable Saturday night and was more or less bed ridden until this morning. My birthday's on the 23rd so basically there went my birthday and both Christmas celebrations in one fell swoop. All I've had to eat is oatmeal and OJ. Oh yeah and a couple of Ferrero Rocher. Best candy ever.

hubby is a packrat too. his grampy used to be a packrat ("collector")too. he even donated valuable collections to the smithsonian. hubby likes bicycle parts and everything he sees is treasurable but I tell him all about it if I see eyesores around the yard.

That little girl of yours is so darn cute!!
Merry Christmas

My 50 year old daughter is not a pack rat...she is a slob! You can't walk through her house. I am not exaggerating. Every three years she moves, gets a fresh start and gets sued by the previous landlord. But we all love her

I am glad your Christmas was good DD. I knew with Lissa there that she would "make the day", funny how kids do that.

Ours was ok. My son and I have been sick since Friday - I went to the clinic today and have broncitis (son says he is better so would't go).

All in all with sickness here, we had a nice Christmas together with my family.

I loved all your stories, thanks. I have strep throat and I'm broke as a joke and sooooo glad it's over.

So sorry you have strep-throat DD.
I loved the pictures of little Lissie. We had a rather small gathering here at our home, our daughter, her hubby and our little grandson and my hubby's Mom. It was our grandson's first Christmas and it was so nice having a baby in the house for Christmas after so many years, I think kids are what Christmas is all about.
We had a traditional turkey meal with all the trimmings, and as usual, I prepared way too much food.
Your description of your Mom's house and hamburgers for Christmas dinner put a smile on my face...
Different strokes as they say!

Hi all!

Oh DD that little one is so cute..

I'm Wiccan so on the 21st I went to a lovely Wiccan Yule party. I got to meet so many super people. I had a wonderful Christmas. I was spoiled as usual. :) I'm a vegetarian so I had a veggie Christmas dinner with friends. Then went visiting and then carolling. Had a great time!

Happy New Year folks!

:) Eliza

ELIZA???? Is that you? You back???

btw dd - so it is you in the background?

I am really surprised - after your stories about seen as 'witch' I imagined you a lot older (and uglier from concentrated grumpiness). But you seem to be of the 'hot' kind of witch..

I wouldn't mind some more pictures (not naked ones - I am not such a pervert... yet),

For Anaon. Dec 27,1:36 I believe DD said that the lady in the backround is the mother of DD's grand-daughter Lissie, not DD herself, although I'm sure DD is quite a lovely lady!

I love the color of Lissa's hair, I just dyed my auburn hair lighter to look like it! Cute Cute Cute!!

your daughter is beautiful DD... i suppose she takes after you. your mother sounds like all mothers of our generation, strange and freaky and controlling. no wonder we all broke loose. well we made it to the other side, PLUS christmas is over and we can get really, really drunk now.

That is my daughter in law and my grand daughter. I AM old and ugly from concentrated grumpiness. My pic was on at Halloween where it belonged.

My sisters family and mine went to my dads house on Xmas day for what we thought was a family lunch. Before we knew what was happening 20 mexicans came through the door. Invited by the wife of my dads ranch hand. They ate EVERYTHING we had and even snuck food out to their trucks. All the way home my kids kept muttering "that was really weird!"
