Come on, this is getting absurd. When you're a young girl/woman you can pull this look off and be a trend-setter hip whimsical cute crazy chick..but, when you get to be her age, you start looking like a loony bag lady. I'm thinking more Whatever Happened To Baby Jane than SATC. And why can her shoes NEVER match anything else? Never! I swear that dives me nuts.

You act like she chose this from her closet! It's her character, it's not real, it's Carrie!!! Those clothes are not for a real person. Her wardrobe assistant had to dress her like that. But it got you talking about her again didn't it? BINGO! It worked. She's wearing another one of those huge scrunchies here tho, are they trying to set a new trend? It ain't gonna happen.
I guess that look is supposed to be deliberately eclectic, but I hate it too.
And do they pretend it's all carefully chosen? Cuz I defy any blind person to do worse, it's just not possible.
Once in a blue moon she wears a classic outfit and looks gorgeous, but the fug high strappy sandals with fugger shorts.......argh!
SJP or "Carrie", I don't care. It looks ridiculous and it *is* attention-getting, but NOT in a good way.
She looks like one of those old dowagers of yester-year, who wear too much *everything* and smell like old-lady... (that unmistakeable scent with the faint, underlying tinge of cat urine)
she's old enough to know better than to dress like that....who cares if it's a character? SJP has tried to say SHE'S a fashion icon, when it's her stylist who gives her what to wear....
I really ABHOR SJP....cannot stand her....and those veins on her arms/feet really bug me...
It looks like she got dressed in the dark and wrapped the dog around herself !! Jeans and a T shirt would be an improvement !
I like it. It's not "right", I realize, but I love it when someone has the won-tons to go out on that limb. We aren't looking at rolls of fat dripping over a waistband or buns hanging out of jeans, it's just insane couture. She's Miss Sassafras! I wish there were more people who'd tromp around dressed like they belonged in a mardi gras parade: There are enough Gap clones out there already.
You are right on the money with your assessment of her. Her outfits have never been attractive. No matter what age she is.. just plain yucky! You ever see the old episode of "I Love Lucy" when Fred and Ricky made hats out of a lampshade and a garbage can and called it designer, and they wore them? I see her character as the same... just putting on something silly and hoping it'll catch on. Anyone who actually "likes" that stuff and dresses that way is terribly insecure. You wear something because it looks good, not because someone tells you it's stylish.
Yeah this BARF was chosen to her by stylists.
But I hate her and that stupid show anyway...
It's part of the show to have outlandish outfits. I for one don't want to see her in black trousers and a white shirt. It's fun, get over it.
Its cause shes a skinny thing thats why she can get away with it, seriously 00 - 2's no matter how ugly they or their cloths get away with it.
But I agree @ baby jane, you crack me up, thats so spot on.
