Update on Dawg

You asked me to keep you posted on Dawg. I won't do this everyday, but, well, until we all get bored with it..here's Dawg this morning. We had a big snow and Dawg likes it. He frolics in it like a pup. He's found a temp dog house in a neighbors camper shell and someone put tarps in it so he doesn't have to sleep on the ice unless he wants to. He wouldn't eat his breakfast this morning. It was tuna casserole mixed with Alpo and heated up in the micro. He usually loves that, but, this morning he looked at me like "You can do better." I have news for him..I can't. If I could cook better, I wouldn't be eating tuna casserole myself. So anyhow, lots of people are feeding Dawg, he's fine, he's happy. Everyone out here loves him. Maybe we can just keep him and he can be the Dirty Disher mascot. It's not a bad life.

Aw. It is so good that there are a number of people looking out for dawg. I will be looking forward to the updates.

I just love Dawg.

But then, I always root for the underdawg...

Maybe because of that, every stray animal in southern california seems to find their way to my door. Last summer I opened my front door to pick up my morning paper and a big, grey cat barged right in like he owned the place, went directly to the kitchen and [loudly] demanded breakfast.

How can you not fall in love with that?

Despite an exhaustive effort, we never were able to locate his owner. It's always like that somehow... and I never have the heart to give them up or find them new homes so invariably they become part of the family.

Anyway, I'm glad Dawg has found some kind folks to look after him... he seems like a real love.

looks like Dawg has been adopted by all the people who live in your block of flats. they all want him and so they are all feeding him (which is probably why he didn't eat your offering this morning). and someone has put him up in an old trailer. looks like your block of flats has been adopted by a Dawg!

you know what?? i like seeing pictures of Dawg soooo much better than pics of brittneys cunt or that little upstart suri or her rich mum with that disgusting bag. you see the red 40-60 thousand dollar bag, the cunt, the perfect celebrity child and then you see Dawg, and when you see Dawg standing in the snow with a bit of food in an old butter contained and then you KNOW whats real in life and what matters. thanks DD for keeping it real.

Well said Lia. You know, I used to read a lot of celebrity gossip, I found it quite fascinating for awhile. But then I was struck with the realization that I actually couldn't care less what shenanigans Britney, Lindsey and Paris were up to and that I was just sick of them. And since they pretty much dominate the gossip blogs I decided in the end it is just a waste of time. I love this blog though, because as it has been discussed before, DD's delivery is just great plus I love all the personal stuff here. It really warms your heart to read about Dawg for example and it is always nice to see the other reader's personal pics and stories as well. I have to admit, though, I do think Suri is adorable. :)

just a thought; put his food on a brick, or some other non-conductor that will prevent his food from freezing on the ground too quick. Thanks for your time taking care of this animal.

TY for that advice anon, but, I have to wait until he gobbles it up, gets a drink, then I take the bowls in and hide them. I can't imply ownership of this guy or I'll be evicted. That poses a slight problem with the vet things I know he needs, but, I have an insider to help. Casey J works in a vets office and I'm sure she'll sneak me some wormer and all that stuff...shhh, don't tell. :)

Aww, Dawg is a sweetie. He has a groovy name as well. I agree with the other commenters, I really love your take on the gossip because it's so funny, but I love seeing pictures of Dawg and little Lissa and hearing about the Greasy brothers and everyone else who lives near you.
