LOL. I was thinking the same thing! I almost always agree with Simon but "grotesque" isn't really fair. I think Paula pissed him off with all that color horseshit.
Anyway, Simon was just playing mean here -- surely Paula's not the first critic to use chromatic analogies to refer to a piece of music or the images it evokes?

But, for once I got Paula..there really are some people that see sounds as a color. The disorder has a name I can't remember.
That would be synesthesia I think.
