Reader Stephanie sent these photos of beautiful Bailey, who she rescued from a shelter before Bailey could be euthanized. 8 year old Bailey is honestly one of the prettiest dogs I've ever seen and just look in her eyes, so smart and sweet. I'm so glad she was rescued. I beg people who adopt animals to take a look at older pets..I know everyone loves puppies, but, older dogs are always so wise. They give so much, for so little, and deserve a family. Thank you, Steph for what you did here. Bailey is amazing.

she is a beautiful dog!!
Thank you! She is truly a sweetheart. We went to the Animal Center and walked up and down looking at all the dogs going nuts and barking their heads off. We walked past Bailey a few times and finally realized that there was this little grey dog sitting in the corner watching us and not making a peep. We took her out in the yard to socialize with her and it was love at first sight.
We couldn't take her home that day because she had to be spayed. And they couldn't do the surgery for another four days. So we visited her every day. By the third day we could whistle and her head would pop up over the cement wall - she would then stand on her hind legs at the same wall and watch us leave.
Oh, and it turns out that Bailey didn't know how to bark. She never barked once the entire first year we had her. Then we adopted a seven year old Golden, Madison (she is in doggie heaven now) who helped Bailey find her bark.
As you can see, Bailey is not a grey dog. She is mostly white. Which is how we were able to learn that skunk spray is yellow. Who knew? And pee-yoo!!
I knew. I had a St Bernard who loved chasing skunks.
Oh, you know how I finally got her to stop chasing skunks? I adopted a skunk.
Let's be clear - we are all for adopting. But no fucking way are we adopting a skunk. Fortunately, we have a formula for removing skunk spray - she was clean as a whistle within two hours.
I love your beautiful baby girl! She's gorgeous! She's prettier than Halle Berry!!!
Such a beautiful doggie, no wonder you couldn't resist her. So sad how many unwanted pets there are out there and bless you for taking her into your home and family. People please, unless you are an established and registered breeder, fix your pets. It's tragic the amount of poor dogs and kitties that end up in a shelter hoping to be adopted and finally put to sleep.

LOL Steph. I admit, nothing compares to a loyal dog, but, skunks are good pets. For real, they're cute, friendly, clean, and pretty bright.
