I don't give a f**k what you think of me! Sob!

If you read John Mayer's blog, that title would make you laugh. Because most of us do care. But, when you get right down to the nitty gritty, you can't be lying all the time on the net because someone who actually knows you will narc you off. Or someone you meet on the net will want to meet you in real life. I was just glad to only have to take 4 pics before I got one that didn't make me puke. What the fuck is a 55 year old woman who can't afford plastic surgery supposed to look like anyhow? I decided to get over my damn self. I could have made myself MUCH better with photoshop, but, I don't have time for that today or any other day anymore. If it scares you, buck up, because how do you think I feel? Getting old is the shits because your mind is the same, but, the rest of you falls apart, like some treacherous bastard out to sneak up and do you in. You're listening to some hot new punk group with your tits down to your knees..it aint pretty, it's just reality.
*
I told you I didn't fuck up my hair, though. It's just hair fer cripes sake, it'll grow back. Remind me to buy some mascara and eye liner though..for future photos. And my pajamas are no ones business. Heh.

You are pretty DD. I thought you would be. And I am glad you can't afford to get yourself looking like a plastic doll. It would only mess you up.

You are a sweet person.

Hey DD, I'm nearing 40 and couldn't be happier! I'm more confident than ever (and after having children, believe me, my body is nothing like it was 20 years ago). But the important thing is, I'm happy! I'm glad you are, too! Keep up the great work!

I think you are absolutely beautiful, DD!!! You are warm and honest and love your family - those are things pretty can't even buy.

You know, DD, there's no reason to be worried about your looks. You're witty and realistic, and I love you for it regardless of everything else.

What are you talking about? You are gorgeous! I have these cartoon characters in my head of what you and Crabster look like, and it's nice to see more than just words on screen, and that there are faces behind them!

DDDDDD I cant believe it has taken you this long to show up your mug! You are beautiful! I can only hope to look a fraction as pretty as you are when I hit 55, not to mention I hope I live that long :)

Hey you want to hook up with my dad? Hes a hunky witty Highschool English teacher, that is constantly dating & constantly getting dumped. He's 59 and is taking care of my lil sis on his own, she is 6 years old. Come on, he's a hottie and used to be a red head :)

You are WAY too hard on yourself. You are a very lovely woman, DD, and I only wish I looked half as good now at 45 as you do at 55. AND you have gorgeous blue eyes.

how big is your head? all those compliments. well deserved!! the point i want to make is that at 55 you have LIPS. nice big THICK lips. if you have lips you have EVERYTHING. my lips are gone, just a thin line where they used to be. i can't afford plastic surgery and i'd just about kill for some lips. and you have some. lucky, lucky, lucky.

I think that you look beautiful and younger than 55 for sure. I am 28 and I don't even put pics of myself on the net because I am too much of a coward about what people will say. More power to you!

If people say they don't care how they look, 999 out of 1000 is lying. The other one is Jack Nicholson.

Well, I'm getting ready to turn
50 years old. My back is out, I've got arthritis all over, the IRS is auditing me and my once beautiful face is gone. Aging sucks. I can't figure out why my blue eyes, which used to be so pretty and prominent, are shrinking. As for my lips, they used to be very full. Now, they've all but disappeared. Where did they go? Did they get absorbed into my face or something? God I miss being pretty. I used to be so humble about my looks when I was young, so it's not like I'm ugly now because I upset the Karma Gods or anything. So why do I look like such shit at 49?

You still look really good DD.

As painful as aging is for me, I do have things to be grateful for. Have a good husband, a roof over my head and, well, I have my life. Have things I enjoy too. I love listening to rock music. I sit in my car, with my sagging boobs down on my knees and the windows rolled up so no one will know, and I rock out. Yes I do. It makes me happy.

I know one thing, I'd rather look like the old bag that I do, than look like one of those plastic surgery freaks we see so much of in Hollywood.

Thanks for listening everyone.

I know how you feel anon. It was too tempting to post a photo from just 3 years ago when I was still looking good, but, age and health HAVE taken a toll and that's the way it goes. Post your photo..you'll feel better. You're probably cuter than you think.

how old is Crabbie?

DD,Shining blond hair, bright blue eyes, smooth skin, what are you worried about? With the way you've described your past and your present life, your looks are a fucking miracle: Revel in them. Do another pic with mascara and put it up.

anon10:14, try licorice in liquid tincture, in a bit of water. It should help your joints feel more fluid.

Why should no one know that you rock? You have every right to do what you want. You're not hurting anyone. I'm tired of people acting as if not only youth, but life itself, is only for the young.

You sound in kind of a funk. Have you thought about a treadmill, or an inexpensive "Y" membership? You may already exercise, but if you're not doing so, the improvements you can make to your body will really alleviate your low feelings about your face.

Well, enough unsolicited advice...

N.

Hi everyone. Anon 10:14 AM here.
Thanks for your comments and advice. Very helpful. Was at a low point when I wrote my post. Was in so much pain, stressing over the IRS audit and then looking in the mirror too, well it was just a bit overwhelming. Feel a bit better now though. I do exercise most days, which is very helpful. And DD, I would love to post a photo but have yet to unpack them from our recent move. I will at some point in the future though, once I find whatever box they're in.

Thanks again folks.

I think you look great in this picture!

I think you look wonderful DD..I would say you look young for 55 because what's so old looking about 55? I have friends in their 50's who look fabulous. 55 isn't old!

Health can have a lot to do with one's appearance. Health can be worked on and exercise and plenty of water with a good diet can work wonders, especially weight training.

I'm glad to see the photo. I love the smile and that gleam in your eyes. I think it's just wonderful!

DD is 55?? wtf? ewww.. I thought she was in her twenties or something like that (based on what she writes about and what she is interested in: celebrities)

Cute-looking grandkid though... well, except for Crocs - the ugliest things on Earth...
