Jessica Alba..still a genius

Alba in Paris..."Every day I have eaten ham and cheese sandwiches, I can't get enough of them. Wish they had these back in the states, the bread is amazing. My tummy is getting bigger by the second and the little one must like the food too because it is moving and kicking like crazy. ITS THE BEST."

Yes, that's the bitch about living in America. We don't have any ham or bread. Someone should talk to the guberment about this situation.

She's probably talking about the bread.

http://www.everydayfrance.com/tag/sandwiches

Quote: "Now I have to clarify because sandwiches means sandwiches from a French boulangerie (”bakery”), made fresh every day using the delicious French bread. At home we buy fresh bread from the bakery all the time, and once my wife brought home some Harry’s bread (an industrial brand with a name that is supposed to sound American, it’s like Wonder or Butternut, etc.). Our daughter wouldn’t eat it! So that should tell you how good the French bread is."

French people are incredibly picky about bread and expect it fresh, every day.

Their cheese, however...there, she's lost me.

I been to Paris the ham and cheese and the bread are really good its hard to explain unless you eaten it. The same with eating gelato in Italy nothing here can compare to it.

I don't know about ham since I haven't eaten it for 9 years but one thing I do have to look for when I am in America is really good bread. There are a number of European countries where you can find absolutely fantastic fresh bread anywhere you go. It is easy to get used to.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like she's talking about a "Croque Monsieur". I don't know how well-known they are in the States (I'm Canadian, eh), but I do know that they are 1) delicious, and 2) the highly fattening, gourmet version of of the classic North American ham 'n' cheese, complete with a snooty French name (sorry, couldn't help myself...). Hope this helps...but she's still an idiot. More proof that all celebrities should do their job and then just shut up and go away.

OMG she is stupid. You can get just about anything here in the States Jessica, and hell if you can't you can always order it using the internet - you do know what the internet is, don't you Jess?

No, she's right. The quality of food there is much higher than in North America.
I lived in France as a university student and even cheap student meals were incredibly good, nothing like the processed chemical crap NA students are offered.

I'm very impressed when an American actually notices the difference in taste. Most of them don't even know what food tastes like, they only know how their artificial, factory-made, simulated fast-food and frozen meals taste.

Did you know that most/all burgers are flavored with simulated meat, etc artificial flavorings? I wondered why I couldn't make burgers like restaurant ones and that's why. McD's fries have artificial flavor and probably all the fast foods do.

We need to bitch long and loud about our food and then we'll all know why Alba's been craving simple foreign food.
