covet dressing and that bookcase!!! COVET!!!!!!!!!
whose g'ma didn't have that dressing table/mirror set? OMG! We all know somebody that has that or did have it before they sold it off in a yard sale many years ago. I need it tho, I do need a vanity table & mirror thingy. I do have the shiny hardwood oak floors but thats about it! No antiques in my bedroom, except me!
You have hardwoods?? Biotch! I have turquoise carpet everywhere. Who the fuck does that? Anyhow, I worked with it, did the whole place in deep jewel tones. Dark red, gold, etc. It works, all thrift/junk store items. I should post pics, since I tell and post everything but my crotch here.
I've seen ur carpet. It's not ugly. It's just different. U can work with that. That looks good with black & white with pink thrown in. Very retro colors and patterns. Don't hate me because I have harwood!
i have hardwood too....except in the dining room and living room but i'm ripping that carpet up later this summer, sanding it, finishing it and then using some throw rugs....steps, hallway, all 3 rooms upstairs is hardwood...none of woodwork (save for the bathroom and kitchen) has been painted either....
We actually had to scrape old black foam carpet padding off our oak floors after we ripped up the nasty old carpet that somebody had GLUED down!!!!! IDIOTS! Don't think I didn't cuss them everytime I was down on my hands & knees sanding & scraping to save my floors! Burned up 3 sanders too. Took months because I work so much & only me & my daughter doing the work. But it's so worth it. looks like an NBA basketball court shine now! DO NOT EVER GLUE CARPET PAD TO AN OAK FLOOR! Word! Miss Tia, good luck with ur floors it's hard work but very rewarding and you will be so proud!
OH! and Miss Tia, after the 1st coat of floor varnish and it's dry, lightly sand it smooth and give it another coat, & maybe another, sanding between each coat. Then apply the final coat! Be sure and use the good varnish brushes, I think they are boars hair brushes. Very stiff. & Your floors will look like glass!

I HAVE that dresser. For real. And the girly head pots and the hat collection. OMG! I wish I had hardwood floors.
As long as I'm wishing...I wish I had someone to dust all that crap.
