Eric had friends and relatives all over the world, this was the eulogy (which I wrote)
*******************************************
Eric was a totally unique and gifted person. His talent was original and amazing to all that ever heard him play. His music was his life and we are grateful he left us that to listen to and remember. Eric lived life to the fullest. His highs were as magnificent as his lows. It is often that way with artistic genius's and creative people. When he was in good spirit, he was charming, amazingly funny and the life of the party. He dearly and deeply loved his family and his many friends and ex specially his daughter. Little Alissa frequently told us.. "My Daddy is just always nice, he just is." He was a good father and they had a special bond which his family will do their best to keep alive through the future years.
His family members love him and will miss him intensely, just as his many many friends will. Please have some good times here tonight, perhaps he is here enjoying listening to all of you talk about him. He would have gotten a kick out of that and any funny stories you have about him. He would not have wanted our lives to stop because of him, but, he would have wanted to be remembered. Now and whenever the mood hits you in the future. He would have wanted to see the things you leave at his headstone, be it a page out of a bikini magazine, a can of Coors Lite, a letter or anything YOU think symbolizes your relationship with him. He also would have liked it if you do something as simple as drive up, blast a song on your car stereo and say "Hey." No one loved a party more than Eric, so party on. He was Hollywood, he was Guntown, he was deeply loved just as he deeply loved. He has a bottomless heart....he was like no one else. There will never be another Eric. The world is now missing a shooting star, a leader of the band and a just plain good shit. We are confident his spirit is free now, that there are no more lows, that the keg never goes dry, that guitar strings never break and the concert never ends. And that he is always smiling that special grin we all knew so well. Goodbye, Eric, rock on and save us a seat in the front row, because we love you.

Yeah, strange picture to put on, you just had to know my son to understand. He had many friends. There are some photos of Eric HERE, and if there's a special one that you want, just write to me at flying_buttress@hotmail.com and I'll make sure you get what you need. Hugs, mom.

thats a beautiful eulogy! i am so sorry that you had to write one for your son, its not the way we intend it, but given that it wasn't supposed to be your job, you excelled (as always) AND you were there to do it, like a rock. i cry for you, its not an easy road. much love, hugs and strength. and thank you for staying in our lives, regardless, and being our rock because this is also our worst nightmare. long live the memory of your beautiful son in all our hearts and minds.
You're so sweet. I knew you were special.

That was an amazing eulogy and so was his service. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

That was beautiful. No one can know a son better than a mother. So even though it must have been so very hard to do, you gave your son a wonderful gift by sharing him with others. Our memories are gifts and you chose to give that to so many. You are special in so many ways.
My 84 year old uncle died the 24th of April, and it broke my heart. No one's death should be taken lightly, but it paled in comparison to Eric's passing. I still cannot get over how strong and courageous you are. You truly are an inspiration and a great lady. I've been thinking about you and sending out a lot of hugs to you, because words utterly fail me. You are one hell of a special woman, and don't ever forget it.

"No one can know a son better than a mother." Thanks Kerri, I think that's the best thing I've heard so far. Thank you all.
