Nicole to play Dusty

A pretty well founded rumor is floating around that after Nicole Kidman pops this baby she's carrying, she will star in a movie about Dusty Springfield. If you don't know who Dusty was, you're still slathering on Clearasil and thinking bell bottoms are a new invention. That's okay, you can click HERE to hear my fav Dusty tune. She was a 60's legend and had a hellashiously interesting life. I'm all excited, this could be so good..or so bad. We didn't need another Samantha Stevens, you know what I'm sayin'.

gee, will nicole insist on doing her own singing?? eek!

see, this is one of the things i don't like about nicole...she goes on and on how she wants a baby and she wants nothing more than to have a family and take time to be with her husband, blah blah blah, but here she is pregnant and already planning to make another movie...ya know???

My thoughts exactly misstiajournal. This Dusty story is just one in a long line of movies Kidman already has lined up. I think she needs to go to rehab for being a workaholic.

Dusty looks like Leeza Gibbons in the face in this pic.

I gotta give you props with your song choice, I would have to agree. She looks damn good in that video! Gawd...it made me feel so old tho, 'cuz I remember when that song was popular! Oh well, I may as well own it. I am old!!!

god no! please let this not be true! seriously, does Hollywood actually think that they have to make every famous person's biopic? if it is true there better be A: No singing. at all. or B: better yet, she just lipsyncs. Dusty Springfrield was an amazing singer nobody can touch her

I liked her song, "Silver Threads and Golden Needles", that she recorded in the early 60s, with her family.
The group was called "The Springfields", and the recording was released under that name.
Is Nicole gonna do some hot lesbian scenes?

Is Nicole gonna do some hot lesbian scenes?

OMG! Can you see Tommy girls face??? He IS gay, so he would never play a gay guy, too close for comfort, so to speak. But Nic is an actress & will do w/e the role calls for. She's already lost those kids anyway, having Tommy mad at her & not allowing the kids near her is nothing new, if that should happen due to her movie roles.

I was such a fan of Dusty's when I was a kid and had the pleasure of seeing her perform here as a guest artist for Carole Pope, who is a well known Canadian music artist.
Don't know if any of you ever heard of her, but she was really big here in Canada. Her band was "Rough Trade" and I would have to say their biggest hit was "Highschool Confidenital"
Carol is also a lesbian, which she never hid. Carole and Dusty were in a relationship and according to her, it lasted quite some time.
Anyways, I will always remember this show because the curtains at the back of the stage caught fire and I'm not kidding! They got it out quickly, but it scared me and hubby so much that we gave up our seats and chose to watch the rest of the show standing close to the doors. You can read a bit about Dusty and Caroles relationship in this link if you want to.

Thanks for the memories DD! BTW, my favorite song was "You don't have to say you love me"

It took 7 hours to style that hair (wig?). Love her, though!
