What the holy spooky whaaaaaaa??

Tony Clifton is performing again and you can buy tickets. HERE. In case you don't know, Tony Clifton (shown in the second photo) IS Andy Kaufman. Clifton was Andy's alter ego and he had it in his Taxi contract that he would only do the show if his friend Tony could be on it a few times. Producers were so hot for Andy they agreed, but, everyone hated Tony. Tony caused problems, pissed off all the the actors and in general was a huge untalented pain in the ass. For a long time, none of them figured out that Tony and Andy were the same person. I don't believe Andy ever admitted he was Tony, but we all know he was. Some people swear Andy faked his own death because he really was that twisted. Indeed, Tony Clifton was glimpsed in a crowd at Andy's memorial. After the initial shock, his friends and family agreed Andy had set it up when he found out he was dying. Andy died of rare type of lung cancer in December 1983. Who the hell is Tony Clifton now? What do you make of all this?? It's feekin' creepy. So was Andy Kaufman.

It was revealed years ago that Kaufman's pal Bob Zmuda (played by Paul Giamatti in Man on the Moon) occasionally played Clifton in Kaufman's place.

once i was woking at an Oshmans Sporting Goods in Corpus Christsi, TX. This lady came in & was needing something cute in spandex beacuse she was flying to NYC that day to wrestle Andy Kauffman on SNL! & she did! Dayum! So, I helped her with all that, I was in awe that she was actually one of the women he wrestled. He was nuts, a real hoot. I kept the newspaper article about his death for a very long time. I lost it when I moved one of a hundred times. He never even smoked but dies of lung cancer. That flipped me out. He is dead & so is Elvis you guys and so is Howard Hughes. Anyway..."The man in the moon" I liked the guy.
