Sorry, I got distracted

I got distracted in my blogging today by a baby squirrel. A tree company was removing storm damage and knocked out this little guy, so they called me. At first I thought he was older, but, he's very young, he's just big for his age. I got him to take a half ounce of formula so if he isn't injured, he should be fine. Bee Bee has a brother!!! Isn't he cute??

adorable, just adorable.
It is hard to let them go, after all the time and lovies while you raise them.
You are a good person to do this,DD.

Awwww, how cute DD. He should be just fine as long as he's eating.
Is he from a tree near your house? The mother will no doubt hang about looking for him. Too bad he can't be put back in his nest, but they usually build them very high, from what I've heard Good luck with new addition to the family.

Awww, the whole tree is gone. And all the rest were dead. It's sad, but, this little guy is doing well. He just took another bottle.

If you can get em to eat, and excrete with a little tummy rubbing with a wet washcloth, it has been my experience that you got to him in time.

I have a picnic basket with a lid, outfitted with bottle loops, for taking my "rescue babies" with me as I do errands, if they need to be constantly fed or tended, so yeah, I know how thrilled you are when they quit shaking and start sucking.

Awwwwwww! A baby! He's so sweet. I rescued a baby bird once. I gave him to a bird shelter because I really wasn't equipped to look after him properly. But I really loved looking after him for the day or so I had him. He was so small and fragile! I'd love to have some kind of animal shelter, probably for cats. I really do have to buy me a house.

(Gawd, Crabbie's awful, isn't he?)

he crabbie, she does not need to make them fight. There is a good chance that bee bee will eat him soon. And if he gets teeth, they might fight who eats whom.

For the person who wants a "pet" squirrel.
They REALLY do not do well in cages, need to be free and will flat go crazy at a certain age if not released, after proper training to BE a wild squirrel.
Ask someone who does wildlife rehab, any animal shelter can give you a phone number to one.
You could help out and enjoy the sweeties while they are young.
It is rewarding, and heartbreaking, work. To love enough to let go.
Not many have the strength.
