Stupid sentimental SJP post

There's no story here, I just saw that pic from the movie and was remembering Carrie's closet. Anyone who watched that show has fond memories of that closet, which I'm so glad is back now. Carrie Bradshaw was not loaded, she didn't have a fancy penthouse. She had a decent small apartment, decorated with thrift store crap, but she DID have a walk in closet. She had to walk through it to get to the only bathroom. Remember how her and Adden fought over it and how his dog got in there and ruined her vintage Manolos? Or was it Jimmy Choo's? Anyhow..OMG. Many good scenes took place in that closet. Welcome back, Carrie's closet.

You make me want to know so many things that I bypassed the last few years. But I don't have HBO, so thats probably why & the censored shows on TBS are not that funny. But maybe I will try to catch up now. DD, you make me wanna! I want her closet!

I loved the closet and what it meant to her. Her designer crap was what she called her "investments." I loved the trivia of their lives.

Yeah that was one of the best parts of the show. The closet was her link with the world, where she made herself ready to meet it. I hated a lot of her outfits, but SHE loved them. She wore everything a little awkwardly, because she was so self-conscious.
I loved the realism of the show - how most relationships are fraught with awkwardness and mishaps, how our anticipated great moments can be shot down by fate (remember Carrie's first bus ad, when someone had drawn nasties all over her huge face?), and how what works for one person doesn't work for the next (like Charlotte trying to juggle two beaux and getting caught).

I couldn't believe the show ended because it was so good at showing how people really are - like the weird way Samantha relates to Charlotte after the affair with Charlotte's brother - Sam takes a kind of masculine, upperhand role and forgives Charlotte by slapping her on the tush and talking gruffly to her. All that subconscious stuff coming out of us - we're all awkward with each other a lot of the time.

Anyone seen the movie? I haven't yet.

I agree with you DD, although, that closet scene in the movie was kinda cheesy!! Them drinking cocktails, holding up signs while RUN-DMC sang "Walk This Way".........................
