I love reader Susans yard. The statuary and the textures with the greens and whites. I love the orderliness of it, it looks so peaceful. Great job, Susan. What kind of tree is that? It's beautiful.

that is lovely susan!!! ack, i gotta work in my side yard! wish i had some order, but i tend to be the disorderly sort ;)
Thanks guys! Ha, Misstia & DD, it looks orderly now but this is early times. Just wait until mid-summer when everything is in bloom and crowding into one another. Total floral chaos!! Especially the clematis and honey suckle.
DD, the tree is a Russian Olive, beautiful but not everybody's favorite as they are very hardy and it's been discovered that they tend to take over the native species where they grow wild. I just love mine though, it is indeed beautiful. It actually shimmers in the early morning sunlight, just gorgeous and magical looking. It is in full bloom now(the pics were taken last week) and covered all over with the most fragrant yellow blossoms. You can't imagine how good it smells in my yard (and the surrounding neighborhood, you can smell them way up the street.) I actually have two of these trees, but the 2nd one is only a few years old and still small. My big one is about 20 years old.
wow! Beautiful yard you have. I always love flowers and gorgeous landscaping but dont have the patience to do any myself. So I resort to oggling everyone else's. btw, everytime I hear Clematis, it reminds me of once when I was chatting with a friend and she made a typo ... said how much she loves her Clitmatis.
I love the yard! It looks like a very meditative place. I think DD's blog has to be the only celebrity gossip blog out there where you can get so much fun personal information about the blogger and you can check out the other reader's yards and pets. I absolutely love it. Sundays at DDs is the best! :-)
Thanks Mich! Glad you like my little oasis. I ditto your remarks about this site and our Sundays with DD. I've already said it here, she is the only one who gives back to her readers like this, letting us share bits of our lives and lets us in to her own life. I really like your "Sundays at DD's" reference..DD, do you like??
Very nice garden, Susan. I wish my mother's garden looked so nice (it's more of an overgrown jungle, even in Spring). I'll have to take a photo of my wee vegetable bed when it's in full swing. Years ago, the city planted a whole bunch of Russian olive trees all over the place. I just love 'em. Good choice!
PS: I really enjoy the atmosphere on this site too. Nice mix of gossip and homey chat.
Beautiful! Peaceful, really lowers the blood pressure just looking at these great pics. Nice job. You obviously have a green thumb. Me, I can kill cacti.

ooo....i want a russian olive!!! i live in ohio, would they be able to withstand the winter?
misstia, I live in eastern Canada LOL! Winters here can be brutal. If they can withstand our winters, I'm sure they can tough it out in Ohio.
Susan
