I respected her decision after the whirlwind first year of american idol rounds she went back to university and took the couple classes she needed to graduate with her degree. Her comments at the time were along the lines of, who says this will last a lifetime (singing & money) and she wasn't going to throw away nearly 4 years of studying. I thought that was a mature outlook.
Wether you like country music or not, the woman can really sing!
I didn't think she was that short though, unless Bo Bice is on the short side, just thinking about them stood side by side on the show.
