Congrats to the pregnant man who's not a man

The pregnant man, Thomas Beatie gave birth to a healthy baby daughter. Congrats..but, you're not a man. You had your breasts removed and you shave your face, but, you have a uterus and a vagina which means technically you are a woman. Men still don't know what it's like to have babies.
*
“I feel it’s not a male or female desire to have a child. It’s a human need. I’m a person and I have the right to have a biological child,” Beatie has said.
*
Of course you do..just stop telling me a man gave birth. I'm confused enough on a daily basis without this horse shit. Whatever gender you are, it's going to puke and poop on you. And you'll think it's cute.

I agree. Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

I don't like such gender confusion, but I guess a lot of people do. Good luck to all of them

I am a bit confused. What is this person?
A bearded lady?

it's confusing until you realize that sex & gender, although related, are not the same thing.
most of the time you're born with male sex parts and a male gender (or female) but sometime you get male aprts and a female brain, or gender.
Very few people are 100% one end or the other. That's why there are femme guys and girls we call tom boys.
The mixture makes for a FAB world.
My room mate is a Tranny & it's not the easiest thing in the world. It's just easier to say he's a gay guy. But technically, SHE's a str8 woman cuz (s)he likes men. Now to add to it, (s)he prefers men who like to cross-dress, whcih by definition denotes a str8 male. Gay guys are Drag Queens, str8 guys are x-dressers.
Seriously, c'mon over & spend the weekend.
After a raspberry lemon drop martini it will ALL make sense.
shit, and you wonder why some of us Fags are bitchy?
YOU try to figure this all out!
Air Kisses to all,
Nellyboy

Chloe, here's a link to an article in The Advocate. It's told from Thomas' perspective. Basically, Thomas was born a girl (who grew into a very beautiful woman, BTW) who felt she was living in the wrong body, i.e., a woman's body. She had surgery and hormone therapy, but since the woman she was with couldn't have children, having had a hysterectomy several years ago, Thomas did not have his reproductive organs removed. Anyways, I'm adding the link, but there is a lot of information online because Thomas has been very forthcoming about his life, his pregnancy, et cetera.

Each to their own I guess, but what kind of bothers me is this. If 'SHE' wanted to be a 'HE', THEN friggin do it - don't keep a vagina and uterus.

I think this was planned for publicity and to be considered the 1st MALE to have a baby.

If he was serious, he would have done a complete sex change - nope I am NOT buying this one and the reasons he says to be true.

I have a friend who is awaiting their last surgery and ive got to point out that a tranny = transvestite but its trans gender that = a man or women in the midst of therapies and surgeries of a sex change.

Going for a sex change requires years of hormone therapy as well psychological, with a min of 2 years after this living as that changed gender before they will even do a genital surgery.

Most transgendered people also go through chromozonal testing as well,to see what they were meant to be, they may have been born with partial or full genitalia of one gender but geneticly meant to be the other, XX or XY.

The 'guy' in question was only part way through 'his' gender change and hadnt yet had the surgery to remove the uterus and re work the clitoris into the base of what will become a new penis (so that they still can have sexual pleasure & sensation) Hence 'he' was able to get pregnant, although its surprizing with all the hormone therapy he had been taking up to that point.

Personally thing this person is going to be very confused for a long time and i hope he/she has a responsable transgender medical team that refuses to go forward with the transformation for a few years. Having a baby changes everything for anyone let alone a woman who is in a state of transgender.
