Heath was so into The Joker character he made a list of what The Joker would find funny. First on the list? AIDS. I'm still not going to see it..it's just not my kind of film and I know I won't miss anything..but, him. His mind sure was fascinating, wasn't it?

Rip the Chinese again.
All in good time, my pretty.
his Joker lived for the pleasure of seeing the pain in others, no remorse, no conscience. Did not have a care in the world, if he lived or died or if you lived or died. He was playing on a level field, thats for sure. He didn't care about anyone, anything including himself. Go see it DD.
best movie villian ever. Even beats out Darth Vadar!
Really??
This really wasn't my kind of movie, either . But I went to see it with my son because he didn't want to go alone and it is always more fun to see a movie with someone so you can talk about it . Anyway....it really was good ! Heath Ledger is the best joker ever !! I can understand how this character could have totally f***ked up his head ! He played the Joker as a total psychopath ! And Batman was pretty hot, too ;)
Not even money had any power over him.
I would go see it even if it isn’t your kind of movie. Heath Ledger is so amazing that you are definitely missing out! He is so believable that I forgot it was even him. I’m not into the Batman movies myself but if I have the opportunity to see this one again in the theatre I will!
It's dark and brooding DD, you might like it if you can get past the idea it's based on a comic book.
Watch the first one Bale did, Batman Begins, that has a hint, a little taste of the inner turmoil and darkness the second film fully embraces.
My mum has never seen a Batman movie in her life and I couldn't imagine it, she fell asleep after getting sucked into the hype to see Lord of the Rings but she loved this movie. The Batman characters are really quite fascinating (not a comic fan) and with a focus on them this is unlikely to be one of the disappointing movies.
It was a very good movie, but... I was a little dissappointed. After hearing all about the joker, he wasn't on screen maybe an hour of the 2 1/2 hour movie. Heath was extremely good in his role but I didn't see oscar caliber. Even batman wasn't on the screen as much as harvey dent was. Actually was more a "harvey dent" movie than a joker movie. Now don't get me wrong, it was a good movie and I will buy it when it comes out on dvd, but it will be to watch batman (christian bale was great) and the underated Morgan Freeman. I actually think another actor can wear the makeup and be the joker in another batman movie with a good script. Heath was a great actor and a line he said in the movie to batman something to the effect "I see us having a long relationship" brought tears to my eyes. Go see the movie, it was good (longgggggg).
1st of all, Heath didn't write the part for the Joker, he's playing the Joker so no, Heath himself didn't throw in the joke about AIDS.
2nd - go fucking see the movie before you start mouthing off about it. You know nothing until you go see it. Don't be "one of those" people.
Most actors ad lib the lines and "build themselves" into the character. I wouldn't doubt Heath putting together a psycho demeanor and I can believe he made the comment about aids. Good actors do this sort of thing and I am sure he was a good actor.
As for the movie, I went to see it because my sons wanted to see it. Thank God they are older adolescents. It was much darker than the earlier renditions of the story. I was also deeply disappointed in how far the movie veered from the original storyline, but such is the world of movies.
Haven't seen a Batman movie and like dark movies? Then you might want to see it. Just wasn't "my cup of tea." But that's why they have hundreds of small screens at those places instead of the giant screens at the old movie houses.
