Obviously once the kid got old enough to read there was going to be something about her mother's character that would traumatise her. He might want to hide the sex book and pretty much all of Madonna's career up to this point.
Knowing something was going tobe revealed might be one of the reasons she was sent to spend the summer with her father in the first place.
