Tia says a toad looking for love in her backyard..found it. LOL! That tadpole photo is really good. The fence, I'll let her explain..OMG! She's going to do a yellow stripe too and polka dots and let the neighborhood kids have sections for their art! I think this is so extrodinary. It's different and pretty and the kids will remember you all thier lives. I think if your neighbors complain, they are a bunch of uptight poo heads. You're awesome.

not much more to explain about the fence...needs a yellow stripe, then i'm adding lavendar and mint green polka dots to it to tie into the house---and on the house i'm gonna do the fence color polka dots....
my other sections of fence are going to be painted in a different manner but with those 4 colors and the section between the back porch and garage is gonna be patchwork for the kids to do artwork on!
i have uptight poo heads around me...they've already started complaining...one wants to start a petition! good luck with that!!! :) i like it and the neighborhood kids like it! good enough for me! :)
If the Witch's Candy House in the story of Hansel & Gretel had had a fence around it, I think it would have looked just like yours Miss Tia. No wonder the kids love it! Please post more pics when the polka dots and the children's art is done

I love it, Miss Tia! Thanks for sharing that. And Dish is so right... Those kids really *will* remember you their entire lives.
I can't even recall the name of my first boyfriend ... but I remember (like it was yesterday) the lady who took the time to teach me everything she knew about photography that long-ago summer between 10th & 11th grade.
She's gone now, and I'm glad that I was able to tell her --as an adult-- just how special she was and that her tutelage laid the groundwork for my future.
It's a boss thing to make a difference in a kid's life, especially kids who wouldn't otherwise have had an opportunity at all.
Best of luck, Hun... and be sure to keep us posted on the latest :-)
another excellent thought Susan! (i'm commenting bottom up...)....witch's candy house....love it!!!
will send in more pix when it's done! i hope to get the fence done this week!
yeah, i am the go-to person for all the neighborhood kids....they're always pounding on the door wanting me to come out....i listen to them, play kickball with them, teach them about some herbs---they love to eat the mint leaves, buy 'em candy, gave them all gifts at xmas and on their birthday and hopefully give them a living example that you CAN march to the beat of your own drummer and not to let anyone tell you to put your drumsticks down!
i teach them weird history too....or i help them enjoy the history they're learning....we re-enact some history too...they like that....
LOVE IT!! you are crazy but in the best way. you add colour and light to your life and to those around you.
People are afraid of color and of being different. I understand them complaining. But as long as you keep ur yard neat, why do they care? I dont really think anything can be done. Its not like you live in a housing community where they elect people to set rules about things like that. The it would be a non-issue. Just do it, keep it neat and it will be cool, but let it look messy and we are talkin' "ghetto"... You should have been an art teacher MissTia! Seriously, have you ever checked into teaching a class at the local Boys and Girls Club? It would be a huge hit! I think you are a very creative and fun person, kids do love that. You should really check into a class for kids tho. They'd love it.
